Murder at the Mansion

Here a Murder Mystery Short Story I wrote! It’s 3:00am and I just finished this so it may not be perfect, but oh well. Enjoy! (I’m not great at writing don’t judge) Guinea and about twenty others entered the grand mansions lobby. It was neatly detailed with trees, bookcases and a nice rug. There was a large open staircase too. People started to wonder about, exploring the great place. I was still shocked I had gotten invited to the great owner of Brokenlens’ mansion. He wanted to throw a party and invited about twenty random people. It’s was really odd and out of the blue, but I didn’t worry about it much. I wanted to explore. I ran through a door way on the left near the staircase to show a large dining room with a grand piano. A few other sat at the table and quietly conversed. I walked over to the piano and started to play Heart and Soul when all of the sudden I heard a loud scream come from another room. Me and the rest of the people in the room ran through another room, probably the billiard room, and into the kitchen. There lay a dead bloodied body. It was a girl with light blue hair and a green skirt on, accompanied by a white blouse. We all looked at each other, and on of the guy said “We need to tell everyone else and get somewhere safe.”we all agree to stick together since we where all together during the murder, proving we were all innocent. We ran past the dead girl, through a library with shelves and shelves of books. I would of looked to stay and read, but I no longer felt safe. There was someone hiding up on a shelf. “How’d they get up there?” I thought, and saw a ladder, probably used to reach higher book, next to the shelf. The boy looked like he was about 15, similar in age to a lot of other people here. Other than that, there appeared to be no one else in the room. We quickly continued through to the next room. It looked like a living room with a large fireplace and a few book cases. This house-no-this mansion had tons of books. There was two girls and 3 guys all sitting by the fireplace, no appearing to notice us. One of the girls said “We’re just sitting ducks here! Someone got murdered in cold blood in that kitchen over there!” Then, one of the guys whispered back “Relax, there’s 5 Of us. I doubt the murder will come and try to kill all of us at once.” I kinda of disagreed, because I’ve seen this way to many times in horror movies. But I didn’t say anything and we continued. We then walked out, on the left side this time, and saw a few people in the lobby with worried expressions on their faces. “Relax!” A guy with a golden gun held in his hand said. “I’m completely aware that there is a murder amongst us. I’m keeping a very watchful eye out for who it may be. At the first sign of danger, I’ll act.” This seemed to call people down a bit, but just then if on queue, a loud group of people screaming came from the living room. The sheriff ran to the entrance with a group of people behind. Me and my group followed. Why? Because where idiots that’s why. The murder could easily kill everyone right here, which is about 10 people. The three guys and one of the girls lay dead by the fire place. On the other side of the lobby, the other girl ran out with a scared look on her face accompanied by a long bleeding scar. She ran up to us, and was breathing heavily. “T-they almost g-got me...” she continued to breath very heavy and everyone started at her. One girl finally said what everyone was thinking “Well, who is it?” the girl replied with “I’m not sure...A-all I heard was screaming, saw blood, felt a pain on my face than ran. I didn’t even look back, I was only worried about getting out alive.” Everyone seemed a bit disappointed, but then I started thinking. “If the Murder is downstairs, we need to move upstairs, spread out, preferably into groups, and hide. Like now.” without even arguing, everyone downstairs, which was about...15 people give or take, Got into groups of three and four. I didn’t really trust anyone, except the people I was with. We stayed in our group of four, and ran up the grand staircase. Once we got upstairs, we ventured into one of the hallways. It was filled with guest bedrooms. Not very big though. A girl in the group said “Maybe we should continue down the hallway, because maybe there’s a better spot down the-“ She was cut off by screaming of about three people, and it sounded close. Ewe immediately jumped into one of the guest bedrooms, and locked the door. The room room was small and simple. There was green walls, a gray carpet, with a small bed in the corner. There was also a small closet on the wall near the door. Along with a bed side table, located at the end of the bed was a small flower in a vase. The room was kind of shabby, but it was clean and cozy. I might have felt more comfortable if there wasn’t a crazy murder after us. We all got as cozy as we could and started to talk. Very. Quietly. “Well, since we might be with. each other for the next few hours, why don’t we introduce ourselves?” One girl suggested. “I’ll go first.”She volunteered. “I’m Nova. I’m 15, and I like practicing sword fighting on my free time.” Nova had long, wavy dark blue and purple hair. It had little spots of white too, probably representing a galaxy. “I Just I’ll go next” I said. “Hey I’m Guinea, I’m 15 and I love reading and playing with my guinea pigs. I such at sword fighting, but I’m really good with the bow and arrow.” I let them inspect my long dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. Hopefully I look a bit tan too. “So, I’m Jagger. I’m 16 and like reading also, and playing basketball. I’m pretty decent at sword fighting but suck at the bow and arrow.” Jagger had a skateboard boy look, but in a good way. He had long black shaggy hair and green eyes. He also had a few freckles on his face and nose. “Well, we saved the best for last!” The other boy joked. We quietly chuckled, but where interrupted by faint screaming. Yay death.”Um, anyways. I’m Scooter. I’m 14, almost 15 and love anything to do with magic and potions. I usually play basketball on my free time, even though I’m not to good at it.” “You not alone. I suck at basketball. The only sports I’m good at are Swimming and Ice skating.” I chimed in. “I can’t swim worth a crap...” Nova said. “Well, maybe if we get out of this alive, I can give you some pointers?” I offered. She smiled and said”I’d love that!”. We continued to talk for the next few hours, and quickly became good friends, despite the constant screaming of people being murdered. Judging on the amount of people I’ve heard scream, if they all got killed, there should be maybe 5 other people including the sheriff alive. “Guys...”Nova said”What if everyone, including the sheriff gets killed? The murder will eventually find us sooner or later...” She had a Good point. “Well, one we think everyone is dead, we can try to find the sheriffs gun and kill the murder. That’s the best plan O can think of.” We all agreed to that, and that I would get the gun since I was good with bows and arrows. I guess the aiming part may help, but I’ve never used a gun before... •2 Hours Later• We are still stuck in the bedroom. We’ve been in here for 6 hours. 6 HOURS. I’ve only heard one other person get killed since. We were taking turns napping, since it was about 2:30 AM at this point. Every 30 minutes the guys would nap, then the girls. Right after I woke up, and Jagger and Scooter where about to crash, I heard probably 5 people screaming. One of those people sounded like the sheriff. We all looked at each other, and then heard a young male scream “YES! NOW THE SHERIFF IS GONE! ONLY 4 PEOPLE LEFT!” I might as well of died there. I was relying on the hope that the sheriff would kill the murder. But no. “Well...”I said”This is it. We either make it out alive or we all die, and it depends on me. Yay.” I said sarcastically. Nova patted me on the back “You got this Guinea...” Jagger and Scooter both said “Yeah...” in unison. I unlocked the door, and stepped out into the cold hallway. We quietly creeped to the end of the hallway, and out into the staircase landing. There, laying in the dead sheriffs hand was the golden gun. I slowly picked it up, and saw the murder walking up the stairs. It was the boy on the shelf in the library! I knew he was looking at us weirdly. He wield a long, iron sword that was glowing a bright purple. I immediately started shooting at him. When he noiced, he started to run up the stairs, getting closer and closer. I continued to shoot. He was now on the landing running straight towards us. I stood my ground. Pointed the gun. Just as he reached me and raised his sword to stab be in cold blood. I shot. He stopped. He fell to the ground. I got the murder. We all kinda “celebrate” for a moment, and then where teleported to the town center. We looked around, and everything seemed normal. A letter appeared in front of us, that read “Congrats! Nova Lefue, Guinea Korela, Jagger Taner And Scooter Dakota, you have won “Murder Mystery!” Have a great day, and thanks for playing!” We looked at each other, and collapsed from being so tired. Before closing my eyes, I looked up at the hill, where the mansion remained. “Never again” I mumbled, and dozed off, in the middle of town square. ~Guinea~
