Minecon live announced new updates for the game!!! Here is the update list.



Personally in terms of the nether update, I feel like It's either gonna be terrible or really good depending on what other content Mojang announces for the update. Personally I dislike the piglins which is why I'm concerned for the updates direction. I expected features of the nether to be overhauled more than new features added.
But yay!!! Mountains won biome vote!!!

Glad to see there’s a nether update happening. Also happy that mountains won. I’ll watch the features later, bit tired rn lol.

I personally wanted a cave update, but I'm good with a nether update. I am concerned for the updates direction tho. I really want overhauled fortresses but then we get the piglins which I personally hate as features.
