Okay, this part kinda grows worse towards the end in my opinion, so sorry about that.

Part 1:

10:00 am - 11:00 pm

Sarah didn’t know what to do. The image of Luke’s lifeless body laying the the road burned inside her mind. Her day had restarted, and Luke was still alive. She just needed a way to figure out a way to save him.

Sarah went through the day with Luke, trying her best to have the same attitude as yesterday. Everything was the exact same. They couple went to the arcade, had a lovely dinner, and afterwards they went to the park. All the while Sarah was trying to find a way to save Luke.

11:58 pm

As midnight grew closer, Sarah got more and more nervous. She had stopped replying to whatever Luke was asking her, too occupied with looking for that girl from before. Sarah wanted to know what she meant when she said “you’ll never escape your fate!”. Was it about her, or Luke?

12:00 - Midnight

Luke became angry at Sarah since she was basically tuning him out. Before Sarah could react, Luke ran out across the street. The same car sped through, sending Luke’s body rolling across the pavement again. Sarah sank to her knees and cried out in pain. She didn’t want to see this again, she wanted to prevent it this time.
Sarah heard the familiar laugh from yesterday. The same haunting sentence filled the air, “You’ll never escape fate!”
For some reason, Sarah screamed out “I will! You’ll see!”
The little girl turned, now looking at Sarah.

“Who are you?”

10:00 am

Sarah shot up in bed. She quickly grabbed her phone and checked the date. Her day repeated again. She sat in bed for a few minutes, thinking about what that little girl said. Was she talking to Luke this whole time, if so why him? Shaking her head and sighing, Sarah got ready to start her day for the third time.

11:00 am - 11:58 pm

Sarah wasn’t looking forward to midnight. The plan she had wasn’t her best plan, but it would save Luke. She went through the whole day the same way she did the past two. Arcade, dinner, and then the park. Sarah tried to be happier though, she thought it would help with her idea. She kept reminding Luke that whatever happened, she loved him.

12:00 - Midnight

As Sarah and Luke got closer to the dreaded intersection, Sarah stopped walking. When Luke turned around to ask what was wrong, she told Luke “Stay here. Whatever you do, stay here.” then walked out into the street. Luke was very confused, but that was soon replaced with worry as he saw headlights grow closer to Sarah, who just stood there. He began to panic, yelling out for Sarah to move. Sarah sadly shook her head, telling him “it’s the only way Luke. This’ll break the cycle.”
Tears streamed down Luke’s face as he tried to run out to Sarah. However, Sarah noticed the little girl holding him back. Luke didn’t seem to notice, or he was simply lost in his panic.

Sarah turned towards the headlights, her heart beating faster and faster. Is this what Luke felt when this happened? She closed her eyes, and the car hit her full force. Luke watched it happen, and was broken at the sight of Sarah laying dead in the street. As he held back his sobs, he turned around to the little girl.
“Why did you hold me back?! It should’ve been me! She doesn’t deserve this!”
The little girl laughed. “You knew our deal, Luke. You knew Sarah didn’t like you, so you made this deal yourself!”

Luke looked down at the ground as his tears kept coming. “The deal was she would love me for eternity-“
The little girl cut in, “Until midnight! Do you regret the choice?”
Luke shook his head, although he took her heart through a deal, he didn’t regret a second.
Luke asked, “Why does Sarah know about this, Fate? She shouldn’t have any idea.”
To this, Fate just shrugged. “I guess she saw me, and because of that either you or Sarah will die everyday because of your selfishness.”
