soo I've seen some people saying they have reached a new forum rank and I got a bit confused of what these were and how you earned them.. can anyone break it down for me?

What do you mean? Is it about VIP ranks or forum ranks like notable member, active member, etc.?

If you reached 30 message, you will become a member.
If you reached 60 messages, you will be an active member
If you reached 120 messages, you will be a notable member.

P.S. Please correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not sure about this.

It's 160 messages for Notable Member.
