Introduction: The Mazda 787b is a Japanese endurance car that was the first Japanese car to win at Le Mans in the 1990s. It was eventually banned due to its car sounding like a the old v12 F1 cars and the rotaries were unreliable in endurance racing.
Engine: 3.5L rotary 4 engine
HP: 930
Top speed: 217
why was it really banned at Le Mans: since the engine was 3.5L it was proven unreliable.
Does Mazda make rotary engines in 2020? : sadly no because although it made so much horsepower it’s major flaw was its poor fuel efficiency and it polluted the air more than the piston engines
Conclusion: The Mazda 787b is a 4 rotary engine that produces 930 HP and was banned at Le Mans due to not only its engine size but also some change in rules. It’s the first Japanese Endurance car to win Le Mans and it’s top speed is 217 MPH or 349 KPH. Unfortunately Mazda stopped making rotary engines due to its poor fuel efficiency.
