"Are we there yet?" Timeless whined for the tenth time.
He was getting impatient as every minute went by in a blur. Right now, he and his three friends were driving to a famous hotel that was known for gambling, drinking, and, as some people say, murder. Dale turned around from the front of the car to face Timeless.
"We are there when we get there!" he yelled, exasperated.
"Chill dude," Timeless replied, rolling his eyes and went back to gazing out of the window.
Jely chewed on a piece of gum.
"Did you hear the breaking news on the radio a couple of days ago?" she asked, trying to blow a bubble without any success.
"Yep," Lolo replied, not taking his hands off the steering wheel. "Didn't they catch the murderers that were killing everyone at Moonlake Cabins?"
Jely grunted in reply, and the whole car fell silent once again. Lolo spied a huge building in front of them.
"We're here, Time," he said, driving into the hotel's parking lot.
"About time," Timeless said as Lolo parked the car.
Timeless looked back at the gates that they passed. They were closed. A thought nagged him constantly as he grabbed his bags and walked into the hotel to check in.
"Man, this place is cool!" Alfa stated out loud as he dumped his bag on his bed. "I bet there's some more cool stuff downstairs,"
"Alfa, be patient," Hannah told him as she hung up some of her clothes in the wardrobe. "We'll visit the bar and casino after we've put our things away."
She looked at Alfa's suitcase.
"Better put that away so we can go," she said before walking into the bathroom.
Alfa sighed and unzipped his suitcase. After he had put his belongings safely away, he and his friends were all ready to go.
"C'mon," he urged them out of their room before locking the door behind them.
The four of them took the elevator to the bottom floor, where the casino and bar were. It was already packed with visitors when they arrived.
"There are four empty seats by the bar there," Iuc pointed out, and the others acknowledged her good eyesight as they claimed their seats.
The bartender, a slim man, rushed up to them.
"Anything I can get ya?" he said in a thick American accent.
"Four cokes would be great," Loving replied.
"Four cokes it is then!" the bartender rushed off to fulfil their requests.
There was a crash. The four friends turned to the sound to find someone slumped on the ground.
"Probably unconscious," Hannah muttered as the people around the fallen person roared with laughter.
The others murmured and eyed the unconscious person.
"Four cokes!" the bartender returned with their drinks.
They were passed around to every person.
"Cheers," Hannah said as she lifted her glass and chugged it.
The other sipped theirs slowly. Alfa noticed something odd about Hannah as he drank. She was turning pale.
"Hannah?" he asked.
"Y-yeah?" she replied back, her voice unsteady.
She fell off her seat and onto the floor.
"Hannah!" Alfa cried as he knelt above her.
The whole bar turned their attention to them.
"Can someone at least help?!" Alfa cried.
Someone pushed through the crowd of people. That person knelt down beside Hannah, opening her mouth and trying to make her swallow a tablet. Hannah eventually swallowed it, and after a minute she was able to sit up.
"T-the coke," she gasped. "I think it's poisoned."
There was a murmur in the crowd. Someone spoke up.
"Hey Doc," Wolfy called from the back. "Nash fell off his seat and he's not getting up again."
Ally and Xarious were kneeling beside Nash, who had fallen onto the floor earlier. The doctor rushed over to him and checked his pulse.
"It's too late," the doctor announced. "He's dead."
Sirens wailed as they took Nash's body away. Iuc glanced back at his friends, who were in shock. Her eyes gazed at them until they fell on a piece of paper that was on the floor. She ran over to it and picked it up. The words written on the paper sent a chill running down her spine.
"Nash is very lucky he died a painless death. However, even if yours isn't painless, you will all die anyway."
