Once upon a time, there was a realm which lies on the Topik River, where magic made its occurence. Fairies and creatures from all over, lodged in. As things were going smoothly as intended, one day, a human showed up in the woods, a girl perhaps, unusual to anything they've seen before. They kindly gave her a place to stay, like Aurora in the Moors.
Few months passing by, somehow in one night, the girl turned into a heinous, wicked witch. This was first in history, to see one using the other to seek in power. She was hungry for magic, she was out of control. She cursed one part of the land. It was on the very mountains, the only apple tree to grow in the whole kingdom. The reddest of its kind. She left after placing the dreadful spell on such a marvelous and rare thing.
That turned into a threat to the citizens of Broken Lands, no one dared to touch the blood-coloured, poisonous fruit. Until many decades later, many generations has passed, humanity has searched for the realm, and they would regret it once they arrived.

NIGHT 1
A week later, they marked their location, a jungle in the North side, like what the fairytale told. Turning up at their destination, everyone splitted up to find clues on where the 'city' lies at.
Two best friends, Cindy and Karen, who grew up with each other, decided to walk far distances. Upon all of the tall, oaky wood trees, a white rabbit grazed by near them.
"Cindy, did you catch that?", Karen said, "It's a bunny...".
"I didn't see anything.", Cindy spoke too soon, "Oh, it's there!"
At that juncture, the two tagged along the rabbit's tail. The rabbit led them to a strange hole under a tree, filled with pure darkness. They didn't dare to jump, as they wasn't sure.
"This is really giving me Alice in Wonderland vibes.", said Cindy, "Don't you think all of those magic madness thing is down there?"
"I supposed this isn't a bad idea. We've had worse ideas, this is technically not one of them.", Karen spoke, "Let's hop in, shall we? Hold my hand."
Just like that, Cindy and Karen vanished. Later on, they landed after a couple good minutes of freefalling.
"Wait... is this Broken Lands?", Cindy asked. "Yes, yes it is.".
"This place is like a dream! I've never seen anything like this before."
Karen was amazed at the scenery it has to offer. In the meantime, Cindy turned around, she saw an apple tree. A boldly red fruit was hanging low, a decent height for her to reach for it. She stared at it for a second, and took a bite without even knowing it was toxic. She didn't read the stories.
"Hey, Karen. This apple's delicious! You should nom on it.", Cindy offered the apple.
"Cindy, no! That is not something meant to be eaten..."
Immediately after her sentence, Cindy felt like having a bellyache. She collapsed to the floor holding her stomach, and then lied on the ground. Dead, it was her last heartbeat. Karen hugged Cindy and shouted loud for help. Many times.
Her tears were falling onto the grassy terrain. Unexpectedly out of nowhere, there was someone hiding in the caves. The person used a crossbow to shoot an arrow aiming Karen's chest. It wasn't any normal dart, it has black magic, it can turn living things into stone. She gasped as her body starts forming, the starting point was at the arrow. It spreaded slowly and steadily. Eventually, she took her last breath, and a last scream, before she turns into a statue.
Meanwhile, in the overworld, they heard a cry from Karen. It was in a small space behind a tree, crafted with a door. The yell was repetitive, it didn't stop. They went through it, and turned out to have entered the realm.
From very far away, they had their eyes on the tree. Approaching nearer and nearer, a figurine of Karen hugging Cindy, made out of stone, was seen. They were shocked and terrified. They were too late to come.
