Vix's tears were real. She couldn't believe that she wasn't there to save her brother. She started to blame herself for his death. Her other two roommates, Ally and Summer, tried to comfort.
"Even if we were there with Nash," Summer said. "We probably would've died too."
"And it isn't your fault Vix," Ally added, hugging Vix. "The murderer will be caught soon."
But none of their comments could cheer up Vix. She was in a state of grief.
Everything was eerily quiet the next day. The tourists went on with their activities; ice skating, fishing, roasting marshmallows. But the activities did not shake off the thought of being murdered that day. The thoughts of Nash, Smoosh, and Pi, all dead and gone, and Kathy missing from the campsite made the mood of the holiday worse. However, a few people were still in a jolly mood, hence the previous events. Matrix and her three other friends decided to explore the woods. Giggling like three-year-olds, they stumbled along the forest floor, leaving footprints in the soft snow. Although the majority of the people died in the forest, they couldn't care less. They reached an open clearing with huge boulders and a frozen waterfall and decided to stop there to rest. As Matrix and her friends rested, something emerged from the shadows. It was a wolf, its fur matted and covered in snow.
"Look!" Matty giggled at the sight of the wolf.
The wolf crept closer and nudged its head into Matty's outstretched hand.
"Hey! It's friendly!" he said, rubbing the wolf's head.
Fuzzy stood up.
"I'm going to bring some snacks so we can have a picnic here," she said. "I need two people to help me carry the snacks."
Matty and Iuc stood up, leaving Matrix with the wolf.
"Stay here and make sure no one finds this spot Matrix," Iuc ordered as she started to walk back to the campsite.
"And make sure the wolf doesn't escape!" Matty called after her.
The three of the disappeared, leaving a giggling Matrix behind. After a while, she started to play with the wolf. She was too absorbed in what she was doing to notice a shadow, lurking at the edge of the forest. Hearing the sudden silence, she looked up and froze. The shadow was there, along with a few other wolves. Without making a sound, the figure lifted up one finger and pointed it at Matrix. Realising what was coming, Matrix stumbled to her feet and broke into a run, her wolf friend also fleeing from the scene. The other wolves chased her; they were hungry for flesh. Matrix accidentally tripped over a rock and fell to the ground. The last thing she saw was the wolves closing in on her.
A search party was sent out to find Matrix, but the tourists couldn't find her remains. She was claimed as missing, just like Kathy. Zoey stood at the back of her group, overwhelmed. She couldn't take any more of this. She rushed inside her cabin to have a lie-down. Lolo followed her, anxious for his friend. When he saw Zoey, already in a deep sleep, he himself felt sleepy and decided to retire to his bedroom. Crawling underneath the covers, he immediately fell asleep. While the tourists went back to their activities, one tourist entered Zoey and Lolo's cabin. Hearing Lolo's snores, the murderer crept up the stairs and into his room, a knife in one hand. Once inside Lolo's room, the murderer crept up to him, raising the knife. Lolo suddenly woke up and screamed. The knife was brought down onto his neck, and he didn't stir again. Hearing footsteps, the murderer opened the window and leapt out of the building, landing on both feet and running into the forest. Zoey gasped when she saw Lolo and ran to the open window. The murderer had escaped, once again.
To escape the commotion, Limber decided to take a walk in the forest. He had walked for quite a while when he saw a deep ravine. Curious, Limber approached it carefully and looked down. He gasped when he saw Kathy, sprawled on the rocks below. He had to report back to the manager that he had found her. He turned around to head back when the ground beneath one foot crumbled into the ravine. Losing his balance, Limber fell into the ravine and landed on his back, a few metres away from Kathy. He didn't move again.
