Mafia - Day 4
~~
Once again, the students followed their same morning schedule: get up, get dressed, eat breakfast, then go to class. The atmosphere was darker and students stuck together in groups of four to six, trying to make it harder for the murderer to kill them. They will do whatever they could to survive. However, it would take more than just teamwork to stay alive.
The students filed into Music class and were paired up. Their task was to perform a duet, using either the violin, the piano, or recorder. The students immediately set to work, writing the music and practising it.
The murderers knew that they have to be careful; every student and teacher were alert, waiting for the murderer to strike. They examined the area, waiting for an opportunity to come their way. None came, until the last few minutes of class.
The teacher brought two students to the front of the class to perform. They were exceptionally well, with their music in-tune and catchy. They were rewarded with a loud round of applause once the piece ended. The bell rang, and the students stood up and walked out of the door. Once again, the murderers deliberately packed up slowly. The teacher turned to the students.
"Now, I'd expect that you'd pack up your instruments without me supervising you?" she said.
"Yes, Ms." the two students replied.
The teacher walked out of the classroom, leaving the door open for the last students to exit.
Instead of running off to morning tea, one of the murderers closed the door, while the other ran to the students. They looked up at their approaching peer.
"Mind if we help you pack up?" the murderer asked.
The two students looked at each other before responding.
"Okay...." one of them replied, uneasy.
They started to move music stands back to their racks. The murderer that closed the door hurried back to the students and lifted up a music stand. The other murderer lifted one up as well, and when the students' backs were turned to them, they both slammed the music stands on their heads. Unconscious, the murderers lifted up the students and clumsily shoved them into the grand piano, slamming the lid on top of them. One murderer got a match and poised to set it alight.
"Ready?" the murderer asked the other
"Yep. Let's light it up like it's dynamite!" the other replied, grinning.
The match was lit and thrown onto the piano, and the murderers ran out of the class before they were set on fire too.
Icy strolled down the hall, humming some KPop song. She desired an A for music on her report card, so she decided to practise her piano by herself. Turning the corner, Icy smelt smoke. She hurried to the music class and gasped. The whole class was set ablaze, the instruments, walls, and ceiling crumbling into ash. She heard someone screaming; it was coming from inside the class. Icy took a deep breath. She had to save whoever was still trapped in there. She covered her mouth and nose with her shirt and stepped into the classroom. Turning to the muffled screams, Icy made her way to the piano. It was fully set on fire, so she grabbed a nearby music stand and pushed the lid open. Inside it huddled the trapped students, their faces red and sweating, with a few burns here and there.
"Icy!" Aristein and Vix both cried in joy. "You've come to save us!"
"Quick!" Icy ushered them out of the piano. "To the door before it's too late!"
Unfortunately for the three, as they made their way to the only exit, a patch of the ceiling fell to the floor, blocking the door. Icy breathed harder in her shirt.
"The firefighters will come to rescue us!" she told the others. "Have faith!"
But as she said this, the whole ceiling caved on top of them and they were buried under ash and burning pieces of wood.
The firefighters were called to the school immediately, but they were too late to save them. Aristein's, Vix's, and Icy's bodies lay in a row side-by-side as the firefighters retrieved them from the building. They managed to extinguish the fire, and they taped the music room so no one could enter it. By the end of the day, the firefighters told the students and teachers that it was safe to enter the building again. The students cried for their peers that died that day and started to seek revenge on the murderers. They voted Builder as the head detective of the crime, as he was the strongest, and together they started to collect evidence that linked the killings to the murderers.
