It was the start of a new school year. Students were gathered in the auditorium, chattering loudly with each other. As students were catching up with one another, the principle walked onto the stage and tapped the microphone. Clearing her throat to quiet everyone down, she began her speech.
“Welcome back students!” She said cheerfully. “As you know, I'm your principal, Mrs. Hatake. I’m glad to see you all here safe and sound. Let’s hear from the teachers and other staff now, shall we?” As the other staff each came to the podium to say something to encourage the students for the year, it was about time to send the students out to find their classes. Mrs Hatake walked back to the podium and said “Alright students. It’s time to find your classes, if you have any questions please ask the sta—”
Suddenly, the lights in the auditorium went out leaving everyone in total darkness. Students began to murmur loudly to each other while the staff tried to figure out what was going on. Mrs Hatake spoke calmly, “Students stay where you are. The staff and I will try to turn the lights back on, until then please do stay here as to avoid any harm.”
The students weren’t really worried, at least until a loud thud was heard that echoed throughout the room. “Is everyone okay?” asked a student. With a few mumbling yes, the students once again began to relax. Unfortunately, it was once again ruined by a scream. Everyone was quiet, worried about the person who screamed and themselves.
The lights suddenly came back on, and everyone’s eyes took a second to readjust to the change in brightness. When the students looked around, Withy screamed out for help. Dist was on the ground, bleeding out from a stab wound. While some students went over to try to help somehow, another shriek was heard. This time, it was from Ally. Puff was in the ground, having been crushed from a sand bag that had fallen.
An ambulance soon arrived, having been called thanks to a smart student. Puff was pronounced dead on the scene, and Mrs Hatake received some news that Dist had died on the way to the hospital some time later. The staff decided to postpone the start of school for another week, and provided some help to those who’s friend was killed. While on that week, police patrolled the grounds looking for the person who could’ve stabbed Dist.
