In my opinion, I think that we don't know since science doesn't really answer the question of why we are here and religion fills in that gap.

Also, there is this theory where Aliens trap us at Earth and uses gods and religion to keep us in check and once in a while, aliens abduct us to monitor our growth evolution wise. I don't think it's true, but it is an interesting theory and it is an interesting way of looking at why we are here.

I also think those religions ppl believe in, r just a way to make ppl feel safe. Like, knowing that there’s someone who will save us or blah blah listen to our prayers. Knowing that “someone” made this world instead of us being lonely on earth. So that ppl won’t be afraid. Even heaven. Maybe they made that up so that ppl don’t feel afraid that they might not even go anywhere.
