Maybe the servers only save your XP every 10 minutes, or when you quit MCPE, so when you disconnected there was no reason for it to save, and so it didn't. I don't know...

Yes I Think This Might Have Been Reported Twice , And Also Yes I Have Had This Bug
Before. It Could Be Just The Server , 0.16.0 , Possibly Your Wifi (probably not)
