We all want it back. I'm making this thread so we can slowly piece together something that was as good as it, something like the old BrokenLens community. I realised that my Rant thread didn't really do much except show people how I feel, which is also why I'm making this thread.
Let's start with apologies. I have a ton of things I should probably apologise for, but before I do, I would just like you to know one thing: I have anger issues. It is the main cause for most things I've done, such as swearing and causing drama. I'm sorry.
I'm not good at apologies, so I'm sorry if this seems cringy. XD
For all the times I've sweared in your faces out of hate or anger, without a second thought, I'm sorry for that. I find swearing as a way to let it all out, my anger. I know it's against the rules. And because of that, I'm sorry. I understand it's wrong to say those words, and I still don't get why, but I apologise anyway. (<- Made me lol. XD)
This one is mostly directed at Hazard and Spike, and anyone else I've been rude to before. I'm sorry for throwing words of pure hatred at you. I'm sorry for saying rude things to you, instead of giving you advice on how to improve. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I possibly hurt your feelings, so for that I'm sorry as well. I don't completely regret my actions (Goes against what I'm doing this for, I know, but who cares ._. XD), as they still had "IMPROVE!!!" written all over them, but I'm sorry for not stating exactly what was wrong.
I'm sorry for causing the drama in Benjy's Honor List thread - I was in a horrible mood that day, and I just couldn't go another second without somehow letting out my feelings. I didn't feel like punching a wall, so I went here. If I'm completely honest, I think I targeted Phoenix because I missed her the most. I chose to hate on her specifically because her leaving upset me the most, plus I thought I could put up an argument that wouldn't get her removed, but would still be some what of a good argument. I'm sorry Phoe - I really am.
I think that's everything. You can probably tell me, "Lauren, you've a whole lot more that you should apologise for." But honestly, it's 9:25 PM right now at my place, and I am tired af. So, this is short and simple for now. I'll write some more apologies later.
Other than apologising, I think it would be best if the rules weren't so vague. Okay, well, not only the rules but the punishments too. You can see that some staff mute a person for swearing for maybe 1 or 2 days, yet others mute for up to 5 days. Something the staff should work on is to make the punishments more clear.
Also, something else the staff should work on is a way to communicate other than the forums and servers. Maybe create a kik group or a discord chat, I don't know, just something to help staff communicate outside of BrokenLens.
Last thing for staff, add more rules. You can always see people complaining about teamers, targeters, campers etc. So why don't you make it a rule on all servers that people shouldn't target, team, camp or etc.? Even if it's a game like BP, just add it but say something like, "If you ever decide to try out one of our PVP Minigames, please don't target, team or camp."
These are just a few suggestions. Maybe we can't go back to exactly what BrokenLens was before, but the least we could do is improve it, even if slightly, so that new members won't have to go through all the things that we've had to deal with.
Oh, also, for targeters… what about this: whenever you encounter a targeter, either tell them that you'll help them improve, that targeting won't do, etc. OR you direct them to someone else who can help them, if you don't have time. One thing most targeters don't realise is that the good players took time to improve. They weren't always as good as they were before. So maybe helping targeters understand that concept, and helping them improve, can help lessen the amount of targeters. Plus, it's a good way to get new friends!
(Note - if the targeter doesn't speak any language you know, direct them to someone who you think knows their language.)
