Iuc's QOTD #16

Well..considering how many planets there are in the milkyway it wouldnt make any scence that aliens don't exist because of course we managed to exist.
However with millions of planets and billions of years that have already passed its kind of weird that there hasn't been a species yet that has conquered the whole galaxy. I mean yes this would take a hella lot of time but with so many potential alien species and of course the billions of years that have passed at least one alien species should have been able to do this. Its not like its impossible and at a ceartain point in time its really only the next logical step for a very intellegent species.
So either very intelligent aliens exist but they have a really low motivation to discover new things, we are the only lifeform in the galaxy, there are a lot of lifeforms but we are the only intellegent one in the whole galaxy or there are a lot of intellegent lifeforms in the galaxy but they all got extinct at a certain point. Which of course would be the worst case scenario because we would likely get extinct too perhaps already in the near future.
(Yes I simply couldn't give a short answer to this)
