It is not letting me use my new name

Ok so earlier today I was using Lightning_Wolf_ as my name in game but was originally JoCaleb02 now it only accepts JoCaleb02 why

What do you mean "it only accepts"? What happens when you try to login?

If you're changing your username you need to re-login or maybe someone is using that username

Oh well it was just when I clicked the server it immediately said invalid name but it stopped doing it
