I found a player with an enchanted bow in MM. It had flame enchantment, and they were shooting random people. They were not the murderer however, because when the sheriff killed them the chat said that the sheriff killed an innocent and died. I'm pretty sure this was a hacker, but I never caught their IGN.

This person had item hacks
Next time you see them do /tab and find thier username
