i watched mha before aot (havent finished aot yet) and it depends what you like best. (theme and main types of plots wise)
aot is certainly more gory and has a deeper storyline, while mha is more heartfelt with characters you could relate to more. (we're more like the universe in mha than the universe in aot if we're being real here.)
they are both fantastic animes with well written plotlines, so i don't believe i could choose between the two.

Aot has been my go to anime from the start but I just can’t not like mha- both for sure
