see, people think furries are all about dressing in suits, going to conventions, and doing you know what, but it’s not all about that. it’s an alternative lifestyle that takes bravery to deal with the criticism and hate that those poor people deal with everyday. i wish that people would stop making fun of furries, and just accept them for who they are. people make me sick.

it actually makes me mad because people are making fun of other people who are choosing to do what makes THEM comfortable. if it doesn’t make you comfortable, then don’t even engage with them. goddamn people take a hint.

It's a choice you make, not what everyone else makes you choose. Personally, I don't prefer getting into messes so I'm not a furry. Even if I was, I'd at least know where the boundary lies.

The thing is, although I want the shame to end, humans dislike everything that's different.
Do you know who Elizabeth Blackwell is? She's the first female American doctor, if you didn't know. It took her 29 times to finally be accepted and even then, the people there didn't want to work with her because she's a woman. It took a while for women to be accepted and have rights, though it's not equal.
What I'm trying to say is that it's going to be a long time before people begin accepting furries for the who, and not the what.

good point, but what have these people done to deserve the hate? random people on the internet are making fun of other random people for no reason. makes me go apoplectic.

Because today the society tend to judge whatever you like, and the only way to be accepted is to like whatever they like
