So I tried doing /friend join JJFC_Hannahzard (many of you know probably her) and it said this.

Just wondering how, if she's using an "outdated" version of MC, how can she access the server?

Umm...

Didn't vertx make it so 1.1 players can join as well as 1.2 players but they can't play together? So you must be on different versions.

You probably knew this already xD

BrokenLens players can connect via 1.1 and 1.2 although 1.1 users cannot play with 1.2 players as it's not compatible.

If player X is on version 1.1 and Player Y is on 1.2 They cannot play with eachother. Player X needs to buy Minecraft to play with Player Y on 1.2

Player X can still play on the server but they cannot play with Player Y
