Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay, we've been really busy. We hope you enjoy it, don't be afraid to give feedback! :D

Pixie's point of view
Pixie woke up early. She climbed out of her grand bed and stared out of the window. The sun was only just rising. It looked beautiful out there, how she wished to adventure the crowded streets. But she wasn't allowed outside. Let alone did she have the time for it. Phoenix needed her. Phoenix. Pixie wished to see her again, to hug her. Phoenix would have loved it here.
She drifted towards the breakfast room, the strong smell of food filling her nose. She used to always made sure to brush her hair before eating breakfast, but today she couldn't care less. Her hair looked like a rat's nest, parts of it stuck out at the sides. She had had no time to pack her hair spray. But she'd better get used to it, there would be no beauty products in the arena.
She sat down at the table, she was the only one there, the other two chairs were empty. The food was spread out on the table. This morning there was even more food than last night - it was bigger than a feast back in her District, and she had thought that was big. She was wondering if she should start eating before anyone else arrived, the aroma of the food was making her mouth water.
"Miss?" a girl said from behind her. She wore a plain, navy blue dress and a white apron, her blonde hair was tied up in a bun. "I've been told to tell you that your mentor is sick, so you and your friend will have to survive today on your own." She said the word survive in a teasing manner.
Pixie gave a small nod as the girl walked off.
Finally, she couldn't help herself anymore, she piled food onto her plate and stuffed it into her mouth. After about three platefuls, she bent her head down and licked the plate clean.
"Pixie?"
Pixie looked up, her face and messy hair smothered with tomato sauce. Wolfie stood in the doorway, he was staring at her with his mouth wide open. It was only when she saw his perfectly brushed hair and suit and tie, that she realised how she must have looked.
Pixie grabbed a napkin and wiped as much of the sauce of her face as she could.
Wolfie sat down at the table, neatly folding his napkin on his lap.
"Sorry about that," Pixie muttered in embarrassment, "I look awful."
Wolfie chuckled, "It's okay. Besides, I don't think you look awful."
Pixie blushed and looked down at her plate. Wolfie awkwardly started helping himself to the little food there was left.
"So...." Pixie started, "Someone told me our mentor is ill and we'll have to survive the day on our own."
Wolfie stopped loading food on his plate and stared at Pixie, "What? That's not fair! They have to give us another mentor!"
Pixie shrugged, "I don't know, maybe it is kind of a good thing. I mean, we mostly get to do whatever we want."
"I guess," Wolfie grunted, "Anyway, I was thinking we could split up in training. You know, make more friends, cover more ground. Then we can show each other what we learned when we get back here. How about we meet at six?"
"Oh... Okay," Pixie had been hoping they would stay together. She didn't know anything about the other tributes, or surviving.
"In that case, I'll be going now. See you later." Pixie said as she ran back to her room.

Ray's point of view
It was only after he woke up that Ray realised how luxurious his room was. It was a lot more posh than anything he had ever seen!
When Ray had finished exploring his elegant room, he had a quick shower (when he said quick he meant quick after he had fiddled with hundreds of buttons and found the perfect temperature and scent (yes, you can choose the scent of your shower water)). He wasn't surprised to find they actually had hot water, he had only had warm water twice before, both times long ago.
After Ray had finished getting dressed, he went outside to the dining room, where they had had a feast the night before. He found a woman sitting at the table, reading a book. The woman had long brown hair, she was wearing glasses and had warm brown eyes.
The woman didn't notice Ray looking at her, so he quietly slipped into a seat and began eating. The food he had was delicious, it was nothing like the food he had at home. It was very fancy, and it had more flavour.
The woman looked up from her book, smiling, "Oh, hello, I didn't see you there. My name's Cassidy. I assume you are Ray?" She didn't seem like someone who would have won the Games. She looked a little nerdy, especially with her glasses on.
"I, uh, yeah, that's me," Ray stuttered.
The woman studied him, he couldn't tell what she was thinking, she had a straight, emotionless face. She quickly looked away, "Now we have to wait for Elina."

It was a long and awkward wait, Ray quietly ate his food while Cassidy read her book. He was silently praying for Elina to turn up, anything to break the awkwardness.

About half an hour later, Elina stumbled into the room. Her tangled black hair resembled a bird's nest, and she was still in pyjamas.
"Err, can we start now? I'm never gonna stand a chance in there if I don't get help." Ray asked as Cassidy looked up from her book.
"Sure, we can start now. Don't rush into the cornucopia, onl-"
"Hold on, I haven't even had breakfast!" Elina protested as she began loading some pancakes onto her plate.
"Well, you should have woken up earlier!" Ray argued, clearly annoyed at Elina.
"Hey, it's not my fault that I wo-"
"That's enough," Cassidy interrupted, "Elina, we're gonna begin, you can eat and listen at the same time."
Ray stuck his tongue out at Elina in victory, she glared at him.
"Both of you, stop acting like kids. This is serious, you're going into the games and none of you know a thing about surviving." Cassidy scolded.
"That's what I said in the first place!" Ray complained, glaring at her.
Cassidy ignored him and continued talking. "Anyway, as I was saying, don't rush into the cornucopia, only grab a bag if it's near you. No matter if you get a bag or not, you need to run away. Find a source of water and collect some of it if you can, then run and climb up a tree."
"But what if we can't climb?" Elina asked.
"That's what the training room is for," Cassidy looked at the clock, her mouth opened in shock. "You better hurry to the training room, you don't want to be late!"

Wolfie's point of view
After Pixie left, Wolfie couldn't help but staring at her as she ran. He regretted saying they shouldn't stick together in training, and he could see she was hurt.
Quickly finishing the rest of his food, he carefully wiped his mouth with his napkin. He got up and walked along a hall to what he guessed was an elevator. He stepped inside, it was oval-shaped and big enough to fit about thirty people (with room to shuffle about). The walls were glass - he could see the busy city below getting further and further away after he pressed the button. He and Pixie were on floor two, the training room was on floor twenty-three.

He thought the elevator was huge. But it was nothing compared to the sight of the training room. The room was bigger than his whole house back home, it was filled with training stations - Wolfie didn't know where to start. Most people were already there. He looked around; he saw a sword fighting arena - he was strong enough already, archery - it wasn't really his thing. Knot tying? He doubted that would be much use in the arena. Tree climbing. Most years the arena was filled with trees (the exceptions being the year with the scorching desert, and the one with the frozen tundra). He decided to start with that.
He walked over to the station and saw two girls and a boy sitting near the trees, whispering between themselves.
"Hi," he said loud and clear, "my name's Wolfie."
They looked up at him, nudging each other. The one who was probably the oldest stood up. "My name's Aypi. District eight."
"And I'm Fire," said the other girl, "this is my friend, Waffels," she pointed to the boy.
"Nice to meet you guys. Can you guys show me how to climb?"
They nodded their heads and scampered up the tree whilst giving him directions and tips. Wolfie slowly reached the top of the tree. He scanned the other stations until he found Pixie, she was at the sword fighting station. He smiled to himself.
He didn't realise how long he had been staring, until Waffels, who had been watching Wolfie for a minute, tapped him on the shoulder, "Um, are you coming back down?"
Wolfie awoke from his daydream and quickly hurried back down after the rest of them.
After he went back to his room, the only thing he could remember was Pixie's smile.

Ray's point of view
After reaching the twenty third floor in the elevator, Ray quickly ran to the training room, leaving Elina behind as she struggled to pull herself away from the food. He opened the door and his eyes grew wide with shock. It was huge, filled with people. There were lots of different training areas, some people throwing knives, climbing across metal bars, learning about different plants. He decided to go to the fire starting station. Two people sat next to each other, a boy and girl, they looked like siblings.

As he neared the station, he could hear the people talking.
"No, you have to rub the sticks harder! Look, watch me." The girl took two sticks from the boy and began to rub them faster and faster, creating a spark, which then turned into flames. She blew it out, then handed two other sticks to the boy, "Now you try." The boy rubbed the sticks really hard, Ray could see his face turn red with determination, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't make a flame.
"Why can't you just do it!" The girl yelled at him, "I'm gonna go to another station, you can practice on your own."
The girl stood up, walked over to the knife throwing station and began to throw the knives. Ray could tell she was throwing them to relieve her anger.

Ray walked over to the boy and slipped down beside him. He had short black hair, brown eyes and was wearing a checkered shirt. He looked about twelve, but he also looked miserable. Ray wasn't surprised. He stuck out his hand for the boy to shake.

"I'm Ray, from District 11. What's your name?"
The boy shook his hand and replied, "I'm Jc, I'm from District 12. Sorry about that, it's my sister, Lauren. She likes to pretend to be the oldest sibling, you know protecting me and stuff," he sighed.
Ray was a little suprised to know that they were actually siblings. Relatives are usually never in the same game together.
"Oh. Do you two not get along very well?" As soon as Ray said it, he mentally face palmed himself. That's quite a personal question, he barely even knew Jc. Luckily, Jc didn't seem to mind.
"We do get along, it's just, at the reaping, she volunteered for a girl when I had already got picked. I might have won, but now at least one of us has to die, and if any of us do die, it will probably be me," he mumbled.
"Oh, I don't really know how that feels, I'm an only child. I pretty much grew up by myself, my parents used to leave for work before I was awake, and by the time they came back, I was asleep. I don't know much about them and I was quite lonely back in my District." Ray felt more relaxed after saying that. He had never spoken to any one about it, and it felt good to get it all out.
"Oh, sorry about that. I was never lonely when I was growing up. Lauren and I used to be close until her 7th birthday, then she started changing, and acting all "I don't care about anything in the world". I wish I treasured those memories of us together because now we're both going to die and-"
"Did I hear my name?" Ray looked up to find Lauren, looking down at him and Jc with her hands on her hips. She glanced at Ray then looked back at Jc. "And who's your new friend? I thought I told you not to make allies, we can't trust anyone in The Games."
She grabbed Jc's arm and tried to pull him up with her, but Jc sat down and pulled her down as well. "No, Lauren, Ray is my friend. If you don't want him as an ally, then fine, I'll team with him and not with you."
Lauren bit her lip and thought about it for a moment, then she remembered why she was in the Games. "Fine, he can be on our team. But no one else." She glared at Jc then proceeded to walk away.
"Wait," Ray called and Lauren spun around, "There's a girl from my District, Elina, can she be on our team as well?"
"See, Jc, look what you've done! This is why I didn't want other people with us, we can't just trust random people from your 'friend's' district!" She turned and looked towards Ray. "Fine, ask that girl. But if one of you tries anything, you'll be sorry," she spat.
"I never asked for you to be on my team." Jc muttered.
Ray nodded nervously, "Ok, thank you!"
They both walked off, leaving Jc alone, still trying to make a fire.

Ray approached Elina, who seemed to be deep in conversation with some other girl. "Hey, uh, Elina? Can I talk to you for a second?"
Elina nodded, then thanked the girl for some reason. Ray started to get nervous. What if they invited her to join them? What if she didn't want to join his team? What if-
"Ray? What is it you wanted to talk to me about?" Elina asked, impatiently.
He took a deep breath, "I was wondering if you wanted to join my team? I already asked Jc and Lauren from District 12, and they said yes."
Elina blushed awkwardly. "Oh um, sorry Ray, I've joined the careers' team. They have an amazing plan, they even invited me to..." Ray lost interest and walked away slowly back to Jc and Lauren.
"She said no," Ray blurted out.
"Oh," Lauren said, "we didn't need her anyway."
"Yeah," Jc chimed in, "you'll survive with us, until it comes down to the end." And for the first time, Lauren smiled. Ray smiled back, then sat down with them and for the rest of the day, they made a plan for the arena.

Snowy's point of view
Snowy sat on her bed, she had been terrified when she had been picked, no one had volunteered for her, not even her sisters.
What she didn't like about the magnificence of the Capitol apartments and food, was that they felt fake. As if everything was just to make her think they were kind people. Whatever it was, it was not working on her. She knew they were were not kind people.

She walked over to a cabinet and grabbed her silver wolf amulet. Her mother had given it to her when she was four years old. Fortunately, the peacekeepers had allowed her to keep it, they said every tribute was allowed one special keepsake.
She tied it around her neck, she was wearing black leggings and a plain, black t-shirt - she liked making her amulet stand out.

When she got to the dining room, she found a note that read:

Mentor isn't very friendly or cooperative.
Already at training. Decided not to team in The Games.

- T

She knew who it was from: her district partner. They had known each other back in District Six, let's just say that they hadn't been the best of friends. She was infuriated. She was really hoping to have a teammate in the Hunger Games, she crossed her fingers that there would be someone else, like her, who wanted a teammate. She was determined to make friends and to find something she was good at. She enjoyed archery, maybe she could try that.

Snowy jogged to the far end of the training centre, where the archery field was. Three people were aiming at the targets, they focused on the centre of the target as they let go of their arrows.
"Bullseye!" one of them shouted in excitement. He turned around to face Snowy, a huge smile on his face.
"Good job!" Snowy congratulated him. He had short, brown hair, and was about an inch taller than she was.
"I'm Arrow," he held out his hand for Snowy to shake, "District five."
"Snowy," she smiled, shaking his hand, "District six."
The other two people came over to join them. A girl nodded hello to Snowy, "The name's Rouge. District seven." She wore a dark red hoodie and black trousers with black trainers.
"My name's Leo," the other boy grinned. "Also District Seven."
"Nice to meet you guys," Snowy smiled.
"Want me to show you how to use a bow?" Arrow asked her.
"Sure," Snowy picked a bow and a quiver of arrows from the rack.

She and Arrow had spent a long time practising, everyone had left the training centre hours ago. She had nearly hit the centre so many times - Arrow was a good teacher, and they got along really well. She was so close to getting a bullseye, she just knew it.
"Keep it straight," Arrow muttered, "Focus on the target."
Snowy aimed her bow and kept it as straight as she could. She fixed her eyes on the target. As if in slow motion, the arrow flew through the air, her eyes widened.
"BULLSEYE!"

Pixie's point of view
Pixie finally finished brushing the tangles out of her hair, she tied it back in a French braid. She was wearing dark blue trousers and a medium blue blouse, those were the least elegant clothes she could find.
In a few days, the gamemakers would test her and the other tributes on a skill of their choice. They would then give them a score out of 12 - she was hoping for a six. She didn't know what her skill would be yet, but she hoped she would have lots of time to practise.

She had spent so much time getting ready, by the time she got to training, it was packed, almost everyone was there. She spotted Wolfie chatting to some people at the tree climbing station.
"If I'm going to do this," she thought, "I'm going to have to do it properly."
She marched straight to the sword fighting arena and yelled in fear as a sword came much too close to her face. She heard someone behind her smirk. A girl much bigger, and stronger, than her, stood wielding a long sword.
"The gamemakers won't test you on makeup skills if that's what you were wondering," the girl snickered.
"No," Pixie gritted her teeth, "I've come to learn how to use a sword."
The girl laughed, "Learn? It's going to take much longer than a few days to learn how to use a sword." She walked off and started talking to a mean-looking boy, who laughed whilst glancing at Pixie.
"Don't mind them," a voice said from behind Pixie. She turned to see a small girl with shoulder-length blonde hair. "They like to make fun of everyone. The girl's name is Elania, the boy's is Phoenix."
"My sister's name is Phoenix."
"I wish I had a sister..." the girl sighed, "I'm Strelitzia by the way."
"Nice to meet you. I'm Pixie. District one."
"District four," Strelitzia replied, "I didn't want to team with them. In my defence, I probably have a better chance of surviving with them. Apparently it's only me, them and some other girl as the careers this year. There's usually a lot more."
Pixie nodded, "Well, hopefully the rest of us have a better chance."
"Maybe," the girl smiled, she glanced behind Pixie. "I think that guy's waving at you."
Pixie looked over her shoulder, Wolfie was awkwardly waving and tapping his watch. "Thank you," Pixie laughed, "See you around?"
"Of course," Strelitzia giggled.

"I thought we agreed to meet at six?" Wolfie said, irritated.
"I'm sorry, I got caught up talking to a girl named Strelitzia, she was nice," Pixie smiled sweetly.
Wolfie was mesmerised by Pixie's smile, he smiled back, "It's okay." He pointed to the sofa next to them, and motioned for Pixie to sit. She sat down, still smiling, Wolfie followed her.
"What did you learn?"
Pixie grinned like a maniac, "Nothing really, today was more about meeting people. Tomorrow I'll start training."
Wolfie laughed, "I didn't train much either."
They continued talking about their days. Wolfie told her about the tributes he met, he described the easiest way to climb a tree. Pixie told him about the careers, Elania, Phoenix and Strelitzia. He put his arm around her when she told him about the sword nearly hitting her face. For the first time since before the reaping, she felt relaxed, and in a way, happy.

PLEASE MAKE PIXIE AND WOLFIE KISS XDD
As breakfast awaits them, Pixie's in her bathroom using their provided comb and brushing her tangled hair,"Wolfie's really sweet," Pixie thought out loud. As Pixie arrived at the breakfast table, she was surprised by the sight of Wolfie, "You're awake!" Pixie exclaimed, Wolfie has never woken up earlier than her before. "I didn't want to eat leftovers," Wolfie replies. Pixie chuckles. "Do you want to do training together?" Pixie asks as she takes her seat beside Wolfie,"I plan to meet up with Strelitzia today to practice."No thanks, I plan to train with another group of friends today, but I'll put a rain check on it for tomorrow though," Wolfie said. There was a moment of silence as Pixie and Wolfie stared into each others eyes, "Wolfie, I really like you," Pixie admits. There was a pause, but then Wolfie spoke up, "to be honest, I really do too." They both had a desired look in their eyes as they were thinking the same thing, and they went for it.
