Map Submission Guide
Recently with the addition of lots of minigames, we need your help for adding more maps to each one.
This thread as created to explain better what type of maps we will accept on BrokenLens
Map Format
include on your post:
- Map Name:
- Built By:
- Game Type:
- World Download: (In any format, and zipped, just make sure to attach the world on your post, if you don't want to share the link)
- Screenshots or Videos
• Map Requirements •
Survival Games:
- 24 Player Spawns
- Have a Cornucopia ( Reccomended 6 - 9 chests )
- Minimum Map Radius of 200
- Impossible to escape ( Use World Edit to make a glass dome. )
- Use Detail | Be Creative ( We want interesting maps )
Skywars:
- 12 Island Spawns
- 1 Mid ( 3-5 chests )
- Each Island Spawn must have ( Crafting Table / Chest / Furnace / Ores )
- Wood ( Tree / House etc. )
- Spawn Island to Mid = 25 Blocks +
- Each Island should be 10-20 blocks apart
CTF:
- 2 Spawns ( Red / Blue )
- One Flag at each Spawn
- 1 middle ( PvP Area )
- 2 ways to leave base ( Side / Underground Entrances )
- Make Gameplay interesting ( Parkour / Lava / Secret Paths etc. )
Other
- No requeriments at all, just a good looking map
Tips & Tricks
Detail - Whenever building a map, detail is always important. | Refrain from making flat walls and straight roofs, spice it up a bit!
World Edit - Using world edit is going to make everything 10x easier. | Use //cyl to create the islands and //hcyl to create rings. | You can also use it to randomize the floor / terrain.
Use Color - Try to not make a map that is all stone and cobble, use some other blocks to make it look nicer, like clay the base BrokenLens theme block.
Be Professional - When submitting your map, if everything is organized and you use the format, it's going to be appealing to the eye.
Interesting Gameplay - Try to make the game fun to play, avoid copying other maps and add a twist on your map.
