U meant in a convo(inbox forums)?
If so, then somebody has to reply in one or more of the convos you're in.
If in game, then you have to send like this.
/tell (username) (message)

I think it's comments and threads you create. Anytime you say something ._.

I think Wild is referring to when you bring up someone's profile it says Messages: (Number)

So yours is 1616... You get those by commenting and creating threads right?

you get more "messages" by posting nee comments and postings on any thread or profile

Profile posts don't count.
Proof: Try commenting on your profile page then refreshing the page. The number won't change.
It's only posts in threads, that's it.
