How do people join with 1.1?

idk if this should be in the faq but if it is please move it there
So, 1.1, Also known as the discovery update. Had a lot of players, and we didn’t even need XBox to join servers, but. I couldn’t join the server with 1.1, But other players can. How can they do this while I can’t?
P.S I’m currently on 1.5

You can't join on XBOX Because there is no add server feature. Plus, It wouldn't support it anyway.
