omg i wont be able to finish my assigned book how am I supposed to pay attention to this I have issues paying attention god help me

• take short breaks
I'm not sure how long your book is but when I have a long reading to do, I break it up into reasonably sized chunks or I take a break every x minutes (5-10 minute break in between)
and when you finish take a long break and do something fun or whatever you wanted to do instead of reading lol
•go somewhere with less distractions, or put distractions like your phone out of reach
•put on some (non distracting) music or sounds
•eat/drink something. Sometimes when I have trouble paying attention it's because my energy is low or I need to eat something other than sugar/caffeine
• As a last resort, just skim through the book and make sure that you at least understand the main points you're supposed to know

some people also find audio books better
might be worth trying if that's an option for you

when I take a short break it evolves into a giant break. I've been reading for 10 mins and I wanna stop so bad ill try eating and drinking ty strell. same goes for my computer science books they assigned to me, it was fun at first but now the hell of debugging is hitting me

have you ever tried doing your work earlier in the morning?

I've recently started waking up around 7:30-8am to watch my online math lectures because it's pretty low effort (just note taking)
I find it helps me a little bit
