Guide to surviving in the Nether

1. find either a warped or crimson forest and get wood tools. it might be hard because piglins equipped with bows and swords are already there.
2. kill hoglins. they are the best source of food in the Nether, and might be the only source. just try to keep a good distance away from them, or pile up two blocks and get them close.
3. mine up gold, and make at least one piece of gold armor. that way, the piglins won't attack you. (i'll explain why this is so important later)
4. go lower in the nether and find blackstone. this can be used to make stone tools and other stone-related things.
5. barter with piglins. piglins are very resouceful. they can give you crying obsidian, used to make a respawn anchor, and regular obsidian, which can be used to make a nether portal. you can get gravel from them as well, and use it to get flint, and loot bastion remnants to get iron, which then you can use to make flint and steel and light the portal. additional, you can just light it with fire charges, obtained from piglin bartering as well. all in all, bartering with piglins is very resourceful. here is a chart:

As you can see, there are many useful things here. Leather obtained from bartering and hoglins allow you to make leather armor, potions of fire resistance can help you just incase you get in a fiery situation, and iron nuggets can be crafted into ingots, used to make tools and armor.

6. there are bastion remenants and nether fortresses, which are both equally dangerous (for the rememnats, even if you have gold armor, attempting to loot it will piss off the piglins, and the new piglin brute mob will already attack you on sight). Wither skeletons are also dangerous as well, so avoid those generated structures and take note of them, then loot them when you feel you are ready.

7. Either stay close to spawn, or make a respawn anchor very quickly.

8. Another useful tip is hoppers. Hoppers can extract the items from chests in bastion remenants without aggrivating the piglins.
