it’s kind of hard to find, but head backwards in the main hub, and you should find it

Gems can be used on some kind of "machine." They have an end crystal on it. They're found in minigame lobbies, but not sure about the main lobby.
Three buttons are on the machine. Two are for picking the gems you want to spend and the other is for performing the action.

As far as I know, they're not in every minigame lobby, the SW/TSW/MW lobby doesn't have one
