You can use relative coordinates by using ~ as x y and zCan someone advise me how to use these
I'm trying to make all diet and grass blocks water and all bedrock air but I'm now to
Why is there ~/fill x y z ~ ~ ~ <new block> <tile data> replace <block that you want to change>
<tile data>
make the x y z the lowest point you want to be replaced. then fly up to the highest point and use ~ ~ ~ for the coords ur in. you can expand the area.
so for example
/fill 32 90 14 ~ ~ ~ netherrack 0 replace air 0
would replace all the air in that space with netherrack
~ ~ ~ automatically makes it the coords your standing in/onWhy is there ~
Also do u mean by the 0 after/fill x y z ~ ~ ~ <new block> <tile data> replace <block that you want to change>

Since I assume you're in a flat world, bedrock is all at the first row of blocks. Type this:It goes off the screen ._.
its just the block dataAlso do u mean by the 0 after
try testing it in a 2 by 2 area or somethingIsn't water 8 and 9 so do I put that
Does it actually need the tile data though? I've only ever replaced the ground with air but I just skip the old block and tile data, just type my coordinates and the word 'air'try testing it in a 2 by 2 area or something
im not sure XD
idk, but last time i had to use it (few months ago, it didnt work without da tile data)Does it actually need the tile data though? I've only ever replaced the ground with air but I just skip the old block and tile data, just type my coordinates and the word 'air'
Huh :/ I started using it right about the time I joined forums I think (April/May) and I've never used tile data. Again though, I've only ever replaced blocks with air, so maybe it only works with air :/idk, but last time i had to use it (few months ago, it didnt work without da tile data)
Water one said "too many blocks in the specific arra(36057 > 32768)Since I assume you're in a flat world, bedrock is all at the first row of blocks. Type this:
/fill ~-50 1 ~-50 ~50 1 ~50 air
With air you don't need to worry about the old block-tile data and all that stuff. IDK of that applies for changing it to water though. The 50 parts can be changed to another number - they're just an example - but if it's too big it won't work.
Assuming water doesn't need the old block and tile data and stuff either, you can type:
/fill ~-50 2 ~-50 ~50 ~4 ~50 water
The ~ means it's relative to your position, so the 50s would mean fifty blocks away from you in each direction. (Also the 4 might have to be a 5, I forget how many levels of dirt there are in a flat world .-.)
u may have to halve the area and use the command twice. for an old world sized area, i had to use it 4 timesWater one said "too many blocks in the specific arra(36057 > 32768)
So fifty is too many... try 30 or 35 each direction, then move to the corners of the square and do it again to expand?Water one said "too many blocks in the specific arra(36057 > 32768)
I just did 10... Too manySo fifty is too many... try 30 or 35 each direction, then move to the corners of the square and do it again to expand?
I used to do it at 200 but last weekend I used it for the first time after the 1.2 update, and I've forgotten how small I had to make it :/
Siriusly?! I'm pretty sure I did at least 20 each direction and it was fine... :/ ugh Minecraft why are you being stupid?I just did 10... Too many
