Chapter 2: A party out of the ordinary
The night of the birthday party has came, and Kimmy and her husband Yuxxa were very busy with preparing the dinner and the party, a few minutes later, Stash and their trusty Sidekick who was Stash’s only friend when they were a kid, Stefan.
Then after them in a few minutes too, the big brother of all, Alfa, arrives.
“Where’s Flikx?” Said Alfa
Yuxxa: He hasn’t came yet
Alfa: Me who lives in Naperville has arrived faster than him, where the heck is he?
Meanwhile, Flikx was on his way who was about to introduce them Juno, and for some reason, he seemed happier than ever when he was driving to his family’s house
After 10 minutes, he enters the house as Kimmy left the door open, so Flikx enters first
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO Y-“ Kimmy said, “Wh- Who’s th- this?”
Flikx: Good evening everyone, I’d like to introduce a special friend of mine, Juno, we were friends in college, she is originally for Scotland, Juno this is my family.
everyone stares at her, including Geno.
Then they sit down to eat, and it was silent and no one said a word, then Kimmy decided to break the silence wall.
“We never knew you had a friend in college, Flikx.” Said Kimmy
Flikx (in his head) : That’s exactly what I was afraid of, Kimmy is starting to sharpen the knife to stab me in it.
Juno: Yeah, Flikx is somewhat of a quiet person, he also never mentioned he has a wonderful big family.
Kimmy: Nice, she’s a pretty girl flikx, with a well behavior, nice.
Flikx (in his head again) : yup, Kimmy sharpened the knife, and now I’m getting stabbed at it by her.
Flikx: Oh uh, yeah, anyways, Juno, I apologize I didn’t introduce to you my family pretty well, this here, is my big sister Kimmy, and that’s her husband Yuxxa, and here’s Alfa, my older brother, and here’s Stash and their Sideckick Stefan, Stash is a close relative to our family, and this is their sidekick as I mentioned Stefan, was their only friend in Stash’s childhood, Stash had a hard childhood so you would understand how they would bring their only friend to dinner today, and here, is Geno my cousin, and we’re gonna get married soon.
Then Flikx instantly regrets opening his mouth about the marriage situation, but then continues:
“Also, there’s Kimmy’s son Bryar who’s somewhere I haven’t seen him yet, but I’m sure you’ll meet him at some point.”
Juno: Well, I didn’t know you were gonna get married flikx, nice to meet you Geno!
Geno: nice to meet you too.
Here Stash finally speaks after witnessing a possible calm battle
“Hey Juno!” Said Stash, “You should’ve seen Flikx when he was a child, he wanted to learn how to swim so badly he ran to the water with his underpants wore backwards, and almost drown, I found it so funny I’m sorry!”
Juno: Almost drowned?
Stash: yea, and then Stefan here saved him while I was taking a picture of him! I was so evil back in the days sorry flikx!
Juno: *laughs* so you like drowning men pictures?
Stash: *stutters* uhh, of course? Of course?!
Flikx: *in his head once again* that’s all I need, ugh.
flikx: Excuse me guys I have to go smoke a cigarette
flikx leaves the dinning room for a cigarette, but then realizes that he is out of cigarette, he looks into his pocket and finds 1 dollar, then he finds Bryar sitting alone in a dark room
“Hey Bryar, whatcha doing?” Flikxtah asks
Bryar: Nothing.
Flikxtah: Well uh, would you mind going out buying me a packet of cigarettes?
Bryar: I don’t wanna go down the stairs alone again..
Flikxtah: I’ll give you the change to buy yourself something
Here Bryar agrees on his uncle’s offer, and forces himself to go down the stairs alone.
Flikx goes back to the dinning room.
Kimmy: hey Flikx, do you wanna tell Juno who was your first love?
Flikx: Uh, the food is absolutely delicious, I mean seriously you need to enter in some sort of a competition Kimmy your food is so good!
Geno: uh flikx? You didn’t tell us you liked someone before
Flikx: No I didn’t, I uh…
Kimmy: his first love was a Ghost
Geno: A ghost?
Juno: what? A ghost?
Flikx: Sis look I told you ghosts aren’t real, she was my imaginary friend, there’s a different
Kimmy: Icy.
Geno and Juno at the same time: Who’s Icy?
Suddenly in that moment, the electricity goes out, and they all here a siren, it was some sort of a explosion or there was an air invasion.
“EVERYONE, HEAD TO THE UNDERGROUND SAFE ROOM, NOW!” Kimmy yells
Then everyone with a light torch on them, they all head down to the safe room
Everyone enters the safe room, and Kimmy and Yuxxa count everyone in.
“Where’s Bryar?? Stefan have you seen him??” Yuxxa asks
Stefan: No! I didn’t see him, where is he?
Flikx: oh no, I told him to buy me a packet of cigarette, this is my fault, I’ll go out and get him
Alfa: No stay here, I’ll go outside to find him.
Alfa leaves the safe room, and everyone tells him to be careful.
“I’m gonna go back upstairs” said Flikx, “Maybe he’s hiding up there”
Geno: I’m coming with you
Flilx: no stay here, I’ll be right back
Flikx leaves the others, with a flashlight with his hands since there was no electricity.
Alfa was outside searching for him, and he kept calling out his name, but no use.
Back to the safe room, where Geno and Kimmy have lighten some candles, and they started talking about something that is quiet different of what’s happening in the meantime, they were talking about Juno who Flikx decided to bring to dinner.
“How could flikx bring a girl over?” Kimmy whispered so that Juno doesn’t hear, “I’m just scared that he might look at her as if she’s better than you.”
Geno: Don’t say that, Flikx isn’t someone like that.
Kimmy: can’t you see it?! That girl wants him! She’s fooling him and everyone!!
Juno was apparently hearing everything but she decided to just pretend that she doesn’t know
“I’m sorry, but what is it you guys are talking about?” Juno asked
Geno: nothing, we were just talking about how pretty you are
Flikx, while he was searching for Bryar upstairs, and he was so focused on finding Bryar that he didn’t realize that another person walked into the room
“Hey” said the person
Flikxtah freaks out when he hears that sound, but then it turns out to be Juno who decided to help Flikx instead of hearing Geno and Kimmy criticizing her.
“Did you find him?” Juno asked
Flikx: nope, haven’t found him yet
Juno: Do your family like me?
Flikx *gets confused*: uhh, why asking?
Juno: Nothing, it’s just I felt weird going to your birthday party while you and geno are actually gonna get married
Flikx: It’s fine, your my friend after all.
Silence fills the darkness of the room with the only the tiny light that was coming from flikx’s flashlight.
“Who’s Icy by the way?” Juno asked
Flikx doesn’t answer…
Coming soon in chapter 3, who is Icy? And where did bryar disappear to? And did they find him? You’ll know in chapter 3, of The House.
