Hiya peeps! Been a while, hasn’t it?
If you don’t remember me (or don’t know who I am), I’m known as ilikethaifood on both the server and forums, but peeps usually just call me Thai.
I remember going online in 2016 (when I was known as Link3000) and playing the various minigames with the friends I had made. We would dress up in the same skin and rub around in murder mystery, do a little bit of trolling in Skywars, have battles in splatter, it was amazing. Then the better together update came along and shat on my connections by introducing the Xbox live requirement. Shame.
I returned in 2020 as I was reliving through things that gave me childhood nostalgia, and it was amazing seeing how much the community had grown, what was added, and just all the new features. I made new friends, joined the forums (after getting banned for my skin lol), made more friends, and overall twas a happy time!
Unfortunately, I had joined at the edge of what was the mountain that the server would fall down in for the next 2 years. People left the forums, and I noticed the influx of hackers in-game and the high ping. It was still fun to play on the server, but it got old sitting in lobbies with myself and one other person.
After almost a year of being on the forums and staying with the community, I decided it was best that I left the forums and the server on February 11th, 2021. My name would fade into the past, and no one would remember me at some point. I still kept in contact over discord with some friends, but eventually that dwindled into me only sparingly talking with 2 that I’ve held onto. I decided to once more, but that stay wasn’t very long.
I occasionally checked the forums here and there, but as me and the 2 other friends I stayed with noticed, the forums and the server were dying. It was sad to see, but time does take its toll on everything.
And then, just yesterday, I had heard that the server was going to close down. All the memories I had made in the past, reduced to memories. It’s a shame to see a server that was once massive fall into this. But, as much as I hate to say this, it was inevitable.
Goodbye brokenlens, and thank you for all of the memories you gave me and thousands of others.
