Dis bug almost as big as jimmy

When I'm in a small tower like 7 blocks and someones climbing up... i try to rod them but it doesn't hit/stick to them it just goes through them. It seems if i jump and rod it works, but using the rod while looking down just makes it not work. The hit box also seems messed up when I do that, because sometimes if i hit their head, it wouldn't hit them but if i hit their foot it might work idk please fix
