Difference Between YOUR and YOU'RE

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR and YOU'RE

Do you know the difference between your and you’re? Even native English speakers often make mistakes with these two words.

Your is a possessive – it means something belongs to you.

  • Ex) your name, your car, your house.
The word you’re is short for “you are.”

  • Ex) you’re beautiful, you’re smart, you’re welcome

  • NOTE - it's the same with their (possession), they're (they are) and there (in, at, or to that place or position).

Hope I helped ^^

I already knew this and I am a native English speaker, whenever I realize these mistakes I correct them as fast as the chat can allow me to without the "don't spam" message.
I barely make these mistakes but it's still a good reminder! :p
