~ Chapter 8, Date ~

Wolfie knocked on Shielo's door.
"That'll probably be Wolfie." Shielo said, getting up from the couch.
Strangely, a wave of guilt rushed through Pixie.
"Is it okay if I talk to him? I am his girlfriend, after all." Pixie said.
Tentative, Shielo nodded and sat back down on the couch.
Pixie walked to the door, and opened it.
There was Wolfie. His dark hair messy, his eyes hidden with shades to conceal his tears.
"P-Pixie?" Wolfie stammered.
Pixie blushed. "Hello, Wolfie."
Routinely, he leaned in to kiss her, but soon remembered not to.
"I have your things." Wolfie said, emotionless. Even though he was being ripped apart inside.
"Thanks." Pixie smiled sheepishly.
He handed her the white backpack, full of Pixie's clothes.
There was an awkward silence.
"Well.. I-"
"Wait-" Wolfie said, grabbing her hand.
Pixie looked back at him, her eyes wide with confusion.
"I wanted to.."
Pixie waited, bewildered.
"Ask you on a date. Just two people meeting for the first time."
Pixie bit her lip. He was her boyfriend. She had nothing to worry about.
Pixie pushed her brown fringe behind her ear and smiled. "Sure."
Wolfie arrived at Shielo's house the next day half an hour early.
He got out of his car and knocked on the front door.
"Shielo?" Wolfie asked. Shielo opened the door.
"Funny. Pixie got ready half an hour early, and you come half an hour early. Mutual understanding between each other?"
"I guess." Wolfie took off his shoes before stepping in.
"So where you taking her?"
"The place we had our first date — McDonalds. After that, the theme park that's nearby."
"Oh, cool. Well, Pixie's over there on couch." Shielo pointed towards the couch, where Wolfie could see Pixie playing on her iPad.
Pixie wore a blush pink summer dress and her hair was down and curled.
"Wolfie's here." Shielo announced, fangirling inside.
Pixie looked up, her fringe caressing her cheek.
She smiled shyly, while Wolfie smirked.
She walked up to him.
"Hello, Wolfie. You look nice." Pixie grinned.
"You look stunning." Wolfie sighed.
Pixie blushed.
"T-Thanks."
"Let's go." Wolfie walked to the door and signalled Pixie to follow.
"Where are we going?" Pixie asked as she got into Wolfie's car.
"McDonalds."
"McDonalds? Aren't we a bit too old for that?"
"What? We're never too old for McDonalds."
"Fine."
"Besides, McDonalds was where we had our first date."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I remember-" Wolfie cut himself off as memories flooded through his mind. He didn't like this feeling of nostalgia, so he stopped talking.
"Wolfie?"
"I don't like feeling nostalgic."
"Oh.. Okay."
Wolfie and Pixie entered McDonalds.
It was quite deserted, but nice.
They helped themselves to a private table, near the blackened windows.
The waitress walked up to them.
"Hello! What would you like to order?"
"Just start off with two chicken burger meals, thanks."
The waitress nodded, and walked off.
"How did you know that's what I usually eat?" Pixie laughed in amusement.
"Your my.. girlfriend." Wolfie sighed with a small smile.
~ Back in Canada... ~
Sara walked around her room, clutching her head in her hands.
Where was Ray and Lauren? What had happened to them? Did Laura do anything severe?
As she panicked, Sara heard a knock on the door.
"Come in..."
Sara's sister, Kendra, came in.
"Sara? Are you okay?" Kendra asked. She was worried sick, because Sara had been like this for quite a few days, but she had yet to tell Kendra what was wrong.
"Yeah... No." Sara sighed as she plopped onto her bed.
"Can you please just tell me what's wrong?"
"You know that guy who I said I liked?" Sara murmured quietly.
"Well, you haven't told me his name, but yeah, I remember you talking about him."
"He and his friend, they... Got captured by Laura."
"But... Laura's long gone!" Kendra shook her head. "No way, no way Laura's come back..."
Memories flooded Kendra's mind.
Kendra used to have a boyfriend, Salema.
One Saturday night, they were walking along the street after a delicious dinner together.
Kendra was laughing badly, because Salema had told her a joke which was hilarious because it wasn't.
Salema had averted his gaze up from Kendra's beautiful face to the street in front of him. He saw a girl with long, flowing brown hair, and she was wearing a flowery bright pink dress.
Salema stopped laughing. He had been captured by the girl's beauty. He ran up to her, leaving Kendra behind. As he caught hold of her shoulder, she turned to look at him.
Kendra could see a face like a zombie's — the skin was peeling off, and you could see some of the skull. Blood dripped from one of the girl's eye.
Salema backed away. Kendra shouted and ran away into the night. Just before she heard a voice say in her mind, "I have come back, and my mission is to save the life from this wretched world. My name... is Laura Aria."
"No..." Kendra shook her head. Laura had no right to take the souls of these innocent people, and Kendra planned to stop her.
"Where do you think they are?"
Sara rubbed away her tears, and checked her phone's call log.
