Manipulation
I felt really confused by this Vicki chick. I knew her as she was in my Spanish class (and she was pretty good at it!) but I didn't understand what Mittens saw in her. Was I jealous? I pushed my feelings to one side and forced a fake smile.
"Hey, Vicki! How are you doing?", I asked cheerfully, although I felt the opposite on the inside.
"I'm doing good Amy, what about you?"
"I'm doing fantastic."
"Good to hear..."
There was silence. Yes, I messed that one up. I was daydreaming until Ben awoke me out of my light trance. "Amy? Can we talk? In private?", his face was very serious so I agreed. We were in the living room talking about Mittens and Vicki.
"I think she's manipulating him.", Ben explained abruptly. "He said it was only going to be a meeting with us, but yet, he dragged Vicki into this. Or should I say, she dragged him into this."
"I find it weird, I won't deny it.", I replied, my face full of concern. "You think she's a spy for Krannus or something?"
"It could be possible... I can't tell for sure."
Of course, we didn't want to assume the worst but we did. Vicki was a nice girl, since I knew her from my Spanish class. We decided to go back out to the dining hall, where there was a notable absence of the two lovebirds. "Where's Mittens? And Vicki?"
"They went upstairs. Didn't you see them go up?"
"No, we didn't." Ben looked very concerned. I decided to call Vicki's cell. I had it saved since we worked on a Spanish project together.
"Hello?", Vicki answered her phone.
"Where did you go?", I queried.
"What do you mean?"
"You were with Mittens, we were wondering where you two popped off to."
"I was never at Mittens' house..."
I hung up the phone after getting some information. "That wasn't Vicki, meaning Mittens is in trouble.". I was about to sprint up the stairs but I saw Mittens crawling down the stairs. Suddenly, he went limp. "Neko, we need medical assistance!", I called out to her. She ran over and started examining Mittens.
A while later...
"Guys, I'm fine I swear."
"DUDE YOU FAINTED ON THE STAIRS."
Mittens had just regained consciousness. Neko claimed he was drugged with an aesthetic that made him faint all of a sudden. As quick as a gust of wind, Gavin ran in. "Guys, there's a bunch of Hylushas outside! You need to get rid of them. NOW."
"We don't have any powers though... We're outnumbered and we barely know how to fight.", Henry replied worryingly. "That's where you're wrong. Give me your Shamrocks, all of you.", Gavin ordered. We did as we were told. He connected them to some sort of strap. He handed them back to us. "Put them on. You'll know what to do then. Now go."
We put them on, and I felt a surge of something building up inside of me. This was it, we would find out if the Prophecy is true or not...
