Recruitment - Part 1
"Why can't you tell us how to unlock these keys yet, Gav?". Mittens was red with anger. We were back at Principal Gavin's office,two weeks after we had all found our Shamrock Keys. The office was dimly lit once again, I feel like Gavin prefers the light not to be too harsh on the eyes. "You need to find the other two Heroes before I do anything with you lot", Principal Gavin retorted back. They were in the middle of a heated argument, while Henry and Emory watched in silence. I knew I had to step in before either of them decided to start throwing punches. "Guys! We don't have time for this! The more time we waste, the more likely the keys will fall into the wrong hands." Immediately, Mittens and Gavin looked over at me. "Ahem", Gavin said as he quietly cleared his throat. "Amy is right."
"Then what do we do then? Any suggestions?"
"You all will have to track the last two keys down. It won't be easy but I have faith", Gavin replied. With that, we left his office, in search for the last two Shamrock Keys...
A few days later...
We had no luck with finding either of the two keys anywhere. We sat in our tutor class, looking as if we had all gone into a great depression. Sir Ash seemed very concerned with us, Principal Gavin clearly didn't tell him our secret. One morning, Sir Ash had an announcement to make. "Right, class! Today, we have two new students from England joining us for the rest of the year. Please give them a Sir Ash Tutor Group welcome... I'm looking at you, Zek and Kat."
"Pfft."
"Whatever."
Sir Ash went outside to get the two new students. They reluctantly followed Sir Ash inside. Both were females with black hair. One's hair was long and curly, the other's was short and straight. I could tell they were related in some shape or form. "This is Neko and Kayla Deane.", Sir Ash announced. "Welcome!", we all said in unison. The one with the curly hair made the choice to sit beside me, while the other sat beside Mittens. "Hey, I'm Amy! Welcome to PR High!"
"Neko", the girl stretched out her hand. I extended mine and we shook hands. Her eyes were green, a very striking green. The bell rang for first period as we all made our way to the next class.
At lunch...
"Mind if we join you?" Neko asked me. "Sure!", I replied with eagerness. Neko and Kayla sat down. I introduced myself to Kayla and we all started chatting away until Emory ran up to me, almost out of breath. "You OK, Emory? It looks like you've seen a ghost."
"It's Henry... and Mittens... they're... in trouble!", Emory panted. I went up to follow Emory when Neko stopped me. "Let me and Kayla help. We're trained in... first aid. If they get injured, you'll need us." I shrugged off the fact how there was hesitation in her voice but I accepted her offer. We all ran as fast as we could to where Henry and Mittens were. Immediately, I knew where we were going. The Old Forest...
"Over there!", Kayla shouted as she saw Henry and Mittens fighting off... robot aliens?! We later learned these things were called Hylushas, and were the henchmen of Krannus. Half robot, half alien creatures, that were hard to beat at first. Luckily, Mittens took self defense classes, so he had no problem dispatching the creatures. He rubbed his hands together as we were running over. "What were those things?", he inquired. "There's more of them!", Henry called. "Look out Kayla!". Unfortunately, Kayla didn't hear his warning fast enough. She got hit on the head and was out cold. Neko kicked the thing that knocked her cousin out. She bent down and protected Kayla as more of these things surrounded us. There was no escape. Here, we would fight, or die trying...
