Can we use new stuff like scaffolds?

If you mean on BrokenLens they should be supported. It is 1.8 now, I think.

But doesn't the server support earlier versions too? I have a few friends who play on 1.1 (I think) and any of the new blocks would probably be invisible for them which would mean that brokenlens would have to stop supporting those versions if they add the new blocks to maps.

You can, but if your were to be accepted, it'd take a while to be on the server since the server doesn't support those blocks yet.

The Blocks Changed To Other Blocks That Support In 1.1 .

Example Like :
Colored Glass Will Looked Like A Normal Glass For Them, Like In The Splatter.

But the scaffold allows you to climb. If it was ever used as an elevator or something people with previous versions wouldnt be able to use it

well yea, but blocks like scaffold don't have a similar block like in the other versions. Colored glass actually existed back then and were in the code. The colored textures just didn't show. Blocks like scaffold aren't in the code of earlier versions so they'll be invisible, and without function
