Chapter 10: A Dune Rats Redemption
“I am telling you, we should find the next Guardian before we start doing anything.” Brax said. “I know, but it’s just that wherever we go it’s always just freaks.” Adam said as he saw a very eager fan hug his leg. Then moments later, the alarms were blaring. “We’re under attack! Take cover citizen!” Adam said as he kicked the fan to safety. This may not end very well.
“Matt! Come in! We are under attack!” Leona said. “We are on our way, just sit tight!” I replied. “Mirath City is under attack, we have to hurry!” I said. “Why else would I not get Twin Turbo Boosters? Buckle up Matt, were going to Light Speed.” Alex replied.
Later…
As we started entering the city, it looked like it was under the most heavy fire in the world… er, realm. “Are there weapons on this thing?” I asked. “Don’t quote me on it, but I put weapons on EVERYTHING I make in the Garage, Self Defense is important!” Alex answered as I blinked heavily. “Brace yourselves!” Alex yelled as he engaged the booster and flew right into battle. He starting blasting the drop ships as they were landing some of the Warbots. “Whoa, who is that!?” Someone on the radio asked. “I have no clue, what ever it is. Two Civilians are saving the city!” Someone else said. Alex was a ace at what he was doing, he was blasting a lot of dropships and dodging a lot of heavy fire, now I think of it… he really should join the Guardians. “Hey whoever's out there saving the city, THIS IS OUR TURF!” Someone on the radio said. “Hold on Adam, we need to let these guys help out. There are a few more drop ships in your vicinity, if you use some sort of tracking missile you should be able to take them out quickly.” Someone said. “Let’s lite up this city.” Alex said as he engaged his booster, firing missiles at most of the ships. “Oh! Alex! I have an idea, one of your weapons is a Magnet Crane, if we can adjust that to the material that those robots are made of, we can send those robots back to the Warship!” I said. “Great idea Matt!” Alex responded as I started getting to work.
“Aaaand, done! Engage Magnet Crane!” I said as Alex engaged it. The warbots were slowly rising and chasing after our shuttle. “Time to return to sender, NOW!” Alex said as he disengaged the Mag-Crane, and the warbots were flying after the ship, thus causing it to explode, and we dodged them right after we disengaged. As we were touching down the shuttle… everyone screamed. Alex opened the hatch and we stood up. Alex… he was smiling, and a bit nervous as he put a arm behind his head. “Alright let’s give these hero’s some breathing room. I am happy to answer any questions on their behalf.” Adam said as he popped up in front of us. “Darlene Carthy here, I have a question for you, the Life Empire have vanished for 50 years straight, could they be behind the destroyed sectors?” Darlene asked. “Oh, I doubt it. They could pretty much be still in that void.” Adam answered. “Mark Lithlac here, does that mean you’ll ask these heroes to join the guardians?” Mark asked. “Say what now?” Adam said as he turned around and gasped only to find me and Alex, Alex was waving and giving off a nervous grin. “I… see why not?” Adam answered as the crowd went wild. “You heard it here folks! The search for the new guardians is over! As Mirath City was saved by a human and a… Human like person thingy.
