Does anyone even remember these? It's been so longggg xD I'm sowwy I was gonna give up on these but then I thought, "y'know what I'm really bored"

So there you go xD

----

As soon as I appeared on the ground, I knew I was in trouble. Three people were already simultaneously rushing at me. I was equipped with an iron sword, a bow, and one arrow. I also had five strange red dye thingies.

The first player had reached me. He swung his sword in a huge arc at my head, and I ducked and used my own sword knock back the second player who had caught up. In my peripheral vision, I could see the third player knocking an arrow into her bow.

I felt a sharp pain in my back as the first player’s sword hit my back. Pay attention Lauren! I told myself fiercely, and retaliated with a flurry of sword swings. The player opened his mouth in shock, then disappeared with a flash of red and a poof sound.

Ha-ha, I thought silently, but as soon as I had turned around, the player with the bow had released her arrow.

There was a sharp pain in my chest and everything went dark.

But suddenly everything came back, and I was standing on a mountain made of what looked like pink candy. The whole place seemed to be based off candy, and by the “chocolate” river where I was at, the player with the bow was standing triumphantly with a big green “2” above her head.

Ohhhh I get ittt! When you shoot someone with the bow, you instantly kill them! Although… you only get one chance. That must mean you get another arrow if you succeed, ‘cause that girl over has no scratches on her.

I scanned my inventory again and realized I had only four red dyes now.

Aaaand each red dye means one life. Great.

Which meant I only had four lives left ‘till… actually, ‘till what?

I brushed off my own question and decided to try and find Phoe and Ang. Actually, scratch that, only try to find Ang. Phoe would probably kill me at first sight, and Ang was more reasonable and would probably give me a chance.

I scaled further up the mountain to get a better view when I heard a voice behind me.

“Think I’d let you get away so easily, Legend?”

The player who shot me was there, with her bow ready.

OH MY GOSH. WHY DOES SHE WANT TO KILL ME SO MUCH. WHY NOT SOMEONE ELSE. THIS IS LEGEND DISCRIMINATIONNNNN.

“Uhhh listen, can’t we be friends or something? It would really be a shame if I had to kill you.”

“Pfft. There are no ‘friends’ in OITC. You should know that, being a Legend.”

“Yeah about that, I—”

The girl’s eyes suddenly went blank. She stared at her chest in shock at the arrowhead sticking out of it. Her whole body flashed red before disappearing with a puff of smoke.

I took a step back and raised my sword.

“There you are Lauren! I was looking everywhere for you!”

My shoulders slumped in relief. “Ang!”

“Yes yes, it’s me. Now let’s find Phoe so that we can get out of here alive. You WERE telling the truth earlier, right?” Ang added, her tone suddenly threatening.

“Of course!” I said, putting my hands up.

“Good,” Ang nodded, “Now let’s go find Phoe. Follow me and please please PLEASE try not to die.”

Ang ran off in the direction of the chocolate river. The coast seemed clear for now, but Ang looked suspiciously at one of the giant candy canes bordering the “river”.

Suddenly, Ang pulled me aside as an arrow flew by and missed me by inches. I raised my sword just in time to meet the other player’s. A big green 7 was above the his head.

“PHOE IT’S US STOP!” Ang shouted. Soon I realized the player I was fighting was in fact Phoe.

“What are you doing Lauren? Do you SERIOUSLY trust her? Let’s just kill her and be done with it.”

Phoe’s grip on his sword hadn’t loosened. I felt a faint stab of annoyance.

“Look, decide now if you want to go with me. If you don’t, then stay in this game forever and get crushed by the Portal. If you do come, well… we’ll most likely be safe.”

Phoe hesitated, then reluctantly lowered his sword. “Fine.”

“Alright then. You guys cover me while I do this.”

I took out the orange dye and smeared a small rectangle. Immediately it glowed and the list appeared once again.

“A group of players are approaching!” warned Ang.

“Ok, hurry up! Both of you, put your hand over the letters that spell “Murder Mystery”!”

They both quickly did so, and just before the first arrows had hit us, we were sucked into the ground.

~

“And there you go.”

I stared at Mr. Big Nose in shock.

Lucky, Hermy, Magic, Rainbow, and I had just through about 10 minutes of Mr. Big Nose’s little “speech.” I was still struggling to understand most of it.

There was an awkward moment of silence until Hermy spoke.

“So… basically you’re saying this “Watcher” who’s your friend went mental and took over this world and that’s why everything’s so… broken?”

Mr. Big Nose shrugged. “I guess so. I mean, I don’t really know what’s up with this world since I’ve been, y’know, trapped in that cave for FOREVER.”

“Oh…. okay.. I think I kinda get it.” Hermy nodded sagely.

On the other hand, I had pretty much zero clue what he had just said. Maybe Rainbow had some idea? I glanced sideways at her, but she seemed just as confused as I did. And also something else— pain, maybe— was etched across her face.

Rainbow caught my eye and gave me a “let’s-talk-about-this-later” type of look.

I nodded, then turned my attention to Cap, who was speaking.

“So…. what now? Hey don’t look at me like that we have to do SOMETHING! I mean we’re all gonna die if we don’t!”

“Yea yea!” Magic, who had been unusually quiet, piped up. “What’re we gonna do, Mr. Big Nose?”

“Well…. If I know The Watcher, it’ll try to bring all the players to a specific game called “Murder Mystery”, which is rumored to be the strongest minigame the original Owner created. However,” he added, “I’m pretty sure the Watcher wants to get everyone there so it can destroy this world once and for all, with everyone in one place. You’ve heard about the SkyWars incident right?” We all nodded.

“That was just the beginning. If the Watcher convinces most of the players— well at least, most of the Legends— to go to Murder Mystery, the balance will tip and give it the perfect opportunity to strike.”

“But what’s the point of destroying everyone and everything? If the Watcher wants to rule the world there won’t exactly be anything left to rule over if he destroys it, right?” Lucky asked.

Mr. Big Nose chuckled. “The Watcher just wants to remake the current world. Once it destroys it, it’ll remake it into whatever sort of hell it seems fit. And the players? Once someone ‘dies’, they become a part of The Watcher’s personal army. It’s ultimate goal is to brainwash everyone and remake everything.”

There was a long silence.

I swallowed. That sounded bad. If this “Watcher” destroyed everything, we’d all spend the rest of our lives aimlessly doing what he wants.

“But what can WE do then? Is there any way to stop this…?”

“There is. Hey, you.” Mr. Big Nose pointed at Rainbow, who flinched back. “You have a Diamond aura, right?”

“Uh… y-yeah..?”

“Great. Have any friends?”

“Well there was this one…”

“Not here right now, huh? Alright, try to reach out with your mind to find them.”

Rainbow looked confused, but sighed and closed her eyes anyway. Just when I thought she’d fallen asleep or something, she opened her eyes and cried out.

“Wha-Where am I? Saz?? Lucky, Hermy, Magic, Cap? Anyone?? Wait.. who’s this…”

“What’s wrong with her?!” I turned to Mr. Big Nose. “What did you do now?”

“Don’t worry.” Mr. Big Nose said calmly. She’s simply seeing through her friend’s eyes right now. Tell me, what do you see?”

Rainbow, whose eyes were an unnatural glow-y light blue, started moving around blindly with her hands waving in front of her. “Ummm… lots of wool. Magenta… and lime? Oh look there’s people here, a girl in yellow, and this guy… Oh look another guy just came and OW MY ARM IT HURTS LIKE THE DEVIL.” Rainbow lowered her hands. “Wai— wha? My vision’s all blurry now…”

Rainbow’s eyes suddenly went back to her normal brown color. “Oh. It’s gone.” She looked suspiciously at Mr. Big Nose, “What was all that for?!”

“Hmm… Splatter, huh? Alright. I want you guys to go to that minigame called Splatter and convince them to go Murder Mystery. I KNOW,” he said, cutting off Hermy as she was about to speak, “it’s the same thing the Watcher is doing. The only way to stop him, is to confront him at Murder Mystery, and since I have no idea where he is at the moment, we can only convince as many players to join us who will fight against The Watcher.

“Again, I cannot guarantee your safety. I think only Rainbow, Hermy, and Cap should go; Hermy and Cap to support Rainbow, who’s a Legend. The rest of you will have to stay here.”

Another silence. I nervously glanced at Rainbow again.

“Well, what else can we do?”
