brlns needs more staff

The staff team now is helpful and efficient. And most of the staff I know are very active. But they are human and they have their life. They can't be online 24/7. So when I want to find a staff to ban the hackers by saying in /grm or /report but no staff is online. I have to record them hacking and report on forum. This is not very time-efficient when there is a /report function. Not mentioning the staff on the forum are busy as well.

What I mean is that there should be more helpers. So whenever players do /report, there will be a helper to go spectate and probably ban the hacker. Or else the /report is kinda useless when there are not staffs online in the server.

The problem I encountered maybe different from the previous ppl that requested more staff. Also the time moves, maybe at that time the staff team is enough to handle the problem but not now?
I mean look at the helpers list, only 4 people, while Khriz, Trenz, Ally are builders at the same time.
Cuz I was told by ssun or maddie i forgot, the helpers will handle the /report since they are faster. Meanwhile no one spectated when the hacker was blatantly cheating in my game.

Yes, but it's not easy to get more helpers. Staff cannot make anyone a helper, since a lot of people will misuse their power and make things worse. So, we should let the staff do their job, and help them as much as we can. Most importantly, we should be patient.

Some people has suggested that already, so nothing will change
And they should be 99% sure that the guy they will promote worth it, and deserve it, but it takes a lot of time to find one, btw most of nice people you think that they should get staff has already been banned, or muted, or warned

And i think that the server needs a developer more than a helper

For me, I'm trying my best and for once, I think I've been doing a really good job, especially with everyone stuck inside, and I can say the same for many other staff. (Edit: to make this more clear I meant that they always do a great job lol) Can it be overwhelming at times? Yes. But its manageable and like bear said we can't just make a helper fall from the sky with a snap of our fingers. I've been a staff member for longer than almost anyone and there not being enough staff has never been a problem. We're all trying our best and working very hard, just because we arent online to ban a hacker or two on the spot doesn't mean you need to freak out.

Yea I understand finding a worthy person to be staff is difficult. But it is not impossible. The purpose of me making this thread is because I want to express my feelings as a player on the server when I kept seeing the same hacker for 3 game in a row and still not banned. Eventually I just gave up and report him on forum. This happened many times.

I do not mean brlns should promote someone immediately but at least the staff team or the person who is in charge of the staff apply thing can know.

Yeah, I’d say BrokenLens has less staff than other servers in general but I know it can be super duper hard to trust someone to have all of this power. If I was an owner, I literally don’t think I could trust very many people as they could misuse their power and we can end up with another you-know-who. As much as I would like more staff to be in the server to help out so we can get more hackers banned to make people happier in general, it’s just hard to trust people. Sorry if this offended you in any way shape or form but btw I voted yes on the poll.

The thing about that is that people apply to be a helper, not staff chooses helpers. Also many players don't have time to even do the job of a helper. Being a helper means that you always have be doing that job, and can't just occasionally log on and ban like 1 dude. Like I could never be a helper because I have other things to do than to be on the server or forums, and I probably wouldn't be the best helper either.

If you want more helpers you could always apply to be one BTW.

I do think we need more helpers. And I understand staffs concern of what could happen if someone misuses their power, but we have to trust people. We have put our faith in them and believe that they arent like youknowwho. It's not their fault that he/she made bad choices and misused his/her powers and they shouldnt have less of a chance because of someone else's mistakes.

I get that BrokenLens is really looking for good people and honest people, but think of it. When's the last time we got a new helper? Yes, trenz and khriz are now helpers but they were originally just builders. It's been forever since a normal player has applied and gotten the spot. I'm probably going to get lots of negative replies for this, but maybe when choosing staff, they are a tiny bit, erm, picky? And no, I'm not begging for staff or angry if i didn't get it (lol) But I'm just saying that not everyone is going to be perfect, we all have flaws.

Just give people a chance. If they dont work out, they simply will no longer be a helper.
