Hi, everyone. I'm writing this because I would like to try and 'revive' the One In The Chamber (OITC) server. What used to be a favourite game has been reduced to a near empty lobby and I would like to do something about it.

This is a thread that I want to dedicate to ideas on how we can improve OITC. Yes, we - I am asking for your help. If you have any additional ideas to the ones that I am about to suggest, please post them here. Even if you have never played OITC before, I implore you to contribute something here - request a crazy idea, support another's idea, share your opinion. This thread could affect everyone and I want you to have a say in it.

Me and @Tantastic have thought of some ideas on how to improve OITC beforehand:

Mash together One In The Chamber and One In The Quiver - These are both similar pvp games but what's the difference? OITC is based more on pvp whereas OITQ is based more on shooting with bow. If we alternated matches between OITC and OITQ then it would provide a wider experience and since some people playing OITC currently find the pvp too hard while others hate bow spamming, we thought this would even out the playing field a bit more.

Close the server and make it have a grand reopening (after changing it in some way) - I thought this would be a nice finishing touch to get players excited to play the modified OITC.

These are our ideas and opinions, now tell us yours.

Having the alternating matches sounds fun? Kind of. The only problem I can see is if the matches alternated randomly and most players enjoyed - let's say bow-spamming - and it was a regular OITC Game, some of the bow-spammers would quit the match, leaving next to no players in the game. Same with people who hate bow-spamming and enter a game of OITQ. Also, if you could choose the game, most players would go with their preference, creating a divide in the player numbers. Most of the Legends or the Higher Levelled players that I've seen or met prefer PVP and most new players rely on Bow-spamming because it's easy to get kills. If new players only joined OITQ, it would defeat the purpose of merging the two games, in my opinion.

Teaming also tends to be an issue. Even though I team, I find it extremely over-powering. I sometimes go solo and when I do, I see how OP all my friends are. That is one of the primary reasons OITC is so desolate. Yes, teaming is fun, and it's good for the newer players, especially if they can manage to get help from a Legend, but if only the Legends team, it is ridiculously overpowered.

If there are any changes to be made, please consider minor ones. Original players might not like the entire idea of OITC changing into something else. Otherwise, I like the plan of reviving OITC.

I like the idea with OITC and OITQ!
1) What about if we change the damage of the bow that it takes 50% of the life away and not 100% anymore.
2) We could add two kits. One with just iron sword and one with a bow and a wooden sword.
3)We can add a rule like Gab said before that teaming shouldn't be allowed. As it is unfair when four legends stick together against someone who never played the game before. (One of the reasons why people quit the game)

-These are just ideas!

1. As Gabriel said please remove teaming thing Because Its Not fair to other users, I mean people can't win if like 3-4 people was teaming
2. What if we get an arrow in 15 secs? Like just rushing with sword isn't that good idea
3. Add Kits.

Currently, I find those to be the only issues I can detect. Otherwise, I like the plan of reviving OITC.

The problem with trying to limit teaming is how to enforce it. There’s been instances in the past of certain members trying to ban people who team, which ended in drama and controversy. It would help if anyone could post solutions

There has previously been a suggestion of a temp ban for the same length as targeting (two-three days I believe). Would that be an easy solution?

Or have OITQ and OITC mixed.

1 stone sword (To make a fight last longer)
1 Bow
2 arrows (You get it when you spawn). 2 kills = 1 arrow

They used to have stone swords. Iron makes it easier, especially for newer players.

What about the Legends? They could have up to 32 arrows per game (considering it's full) and bow-spam.

Spawn protection could help. Players could have SP and kill the legends.

Not sure. Legends have the advantages of knowing the best tactics, defences and attacks.
