BL is now very different

I found something interesting, this server is getting more worse because its now too far from it's origin, its so different right now, i no longer enjoy for this, this is not opinion.

I have 2 reasons why the BL server is very different now than before.

1. Players : Hackers are annoying right? ofc not yet, they're were the most annoying players since 2015 to 2020, but today hackers is no longer annoying player, PC players is now really annoying and making a game more unfair, so i saw some mobile players wants to get a pc or a controller to fight them, now before you come to pvp games you need a really good device to defeat them and you also need a controller if you don't have enough of money to buy a pc, and PC players are now very OP than before, i actually noticed thats why some mobile players using either a hack or duping to just only revenge pc players. And for mobile players (like me) i only rarely playing BL because when the pc players come, now im end, so i have only limited time/specific time to play BL when most of PC players are off so i can gain wins but its makes me very tired so i decided to quit then to get some relief and less stress.

2. Inactive Server staffs but active on forums : Have you ever noticed? Probably yes but you don't know much more about it, i'll explain, some of staffs are active on forums but not on the servers (and i don't blame admins and owner because they're were the most responsible staff before and they only need a little bit rest). Some of Staffs are active here (forums) and they're not doing some player reports ban or something help, they're only doing to become "more famous" or "more attention" to them, i hope this will won't last long, if they keep doing this, just retire them.

I kinda feel like i should respond to this since the first part of this second section sorta applies to me, as I have been bogged down with very serious irl things resulting in my presence on the server plummeting. I don't know if there are any staff in the same category with me and I certainly don't speak for any that may be, but I apologize for not being able to be there and of course will be back. I'd appreciate it if we could all be a little bit understanding of each due to... you know xD

As for the second part, especially the piece about wanting to be "more famous", this is a completely false and unfair bigoted assumption that you have just made up for the sole purpose of fabricated criticism. Not appreciated.

1. literally thats almost every bedrock server in existence, bl doesn't even have so many pc players compared to that one pvp practice sever that starts with a v and ends with a i and the bee server, etc. and the way u described pc players is just stupid

That's an interesting perspective that you brought to the table there even if it is entirely subjective.
Personally I would disagree though with what you brought up and I would say that it is a misrepresentation of the server's experience. I find that the difference at hand between platforms mainly relies on how you play the game like with a keyboard and mouse or touch. Users on android can use a keyboard and mouse in-game with third party programs and some players on a computer are limited to just using touch based controls.

While it's not ideal due to the size of the screen, Playing on my phone with a keyboard and mouse or a controller actually provides a pretty good experience. Some phones out there even integrate analog triggers as part of physical buttons you can interact with.

If anything though, I find the situation regarding players who cheat on the server to be a bigger overall concern although that is something that we have been consistently working on. That leads me onto my next point which is regarding how you mentioned that staff members aren't particularly active and that they are using their position for fame and for attention. This is a viewpoint that is pretty misleading, Many of us have spent hundreds of hours checking through the server and accounting for community feedback.

I personally find that while there are many times in which I am the only staff member online as the other members of the team might be sleeping or doing other things in their lives. Within the staff team, All of us are unpaid volunteers. We do what we can to help out the server and make the server a better place to play on. We answer questions, write up posts, check suspicious players, record footage, and provide ideas for changes and server developments.

Many of those areas are not inherently visible in-game although they still end up improving the server experience for the player-base. If those of us on the team were looking for fame or attention though, We would have taken a completely different approach to how we work and what we end up doing on the server. As a result, The server itself would not be where it is today.

TLDR: The platform you play on does not matter that much due to how players on any platform can use any method of interaction. Cheaters are a problem that we have been continuously working on and accounting for. We have banned more than a thousand hackers just this week alone.
Our team does a lot to help the server that isn't inherently visible in-game and if we were motivated through fame, The server wouldn't be where it is today.

Not all people can afford like that things, since were in pandemic, not all people are rich, some of them are struggling to survive, then ofc some of players can buy that but others not, just think for the poor/low income players first especially for only using a data to just play on the server, and thanks for your opinion!

1. I can't help to agree with it, most hackers aren't really annoying anymore. It's just the pc players, they're also often toxic when we say somethings like "buy an pc then if you don't wanna be mobile" or something. It just isn't right, like you said we're in pandemic which makes thing even worse that leads the player to either quitting or just hacking. But either ways, this isn't BL's fault afterall not even the staffs fault. We all could also agree that it is stressful when this happens, sometimes they just ruin your wins and like you just get mad about it.

2.Yes, the server staffs are mostly inactive on the server, it's just most of them have lives. They cannot always be active in certain things since timezones exists, although most of them are on forums because it's easier like that, not only they could help people here they could also read the player reports section quite fast. They can afk on the lobby, but most of them are mobile so it's hard to keep track both forums and the server.

Just because some people are more fortunate than others doesn’t mean they have to be limited to having fun.

Yep and I addressed this concern in my earlier point. Players who are on their phones if they want can use an adapter or Bluetooth to connect a keyboard and mouse to their phone. On the contrary, Players on computers can also use touchscreens for input. Often, These keyboards and mice are much cheaper than the phones themselves and they are not a requirement to play on the server.
That's also not counting how many players who simply use whatever they have can often do better in-game than players who have a custom controller or keyboard for the game. I've seen players on mobile who have bested me in pvp and I have seen players on a computer who fall off the map pretty easily. Myself included in the latter.

On another note, our server staff / staff in general aren’t at all inactive. Sure on some days they may be busy but they all do a very good job and get everything done on a daily basis. Just because you might not see them online doesn’t mean they haven’t been the definition of inactive is completely different compared to you not seeing them online or them simply being busy.

obviously we have few staff that are actually inactive but 99% of them aren’t.

I personally disagree with you describing PC players as annoying. Like there's nothing wrong w upgrading from mobile to PC, and no offense but I think you shouldn't have any say in the matter, either you're just afraid of them or you just don't like them. But I don't think there's a reason you should complain about them either, you really just have to deal w it.

A lot of this is just what makes Brokenlens so special to so many people. It hosts so many platforms, so many different types of players, etc.
There are many PC players who have touchscreen features and prefer to use that, or skilled mobile players with or without a mouse/keyboard connected top non-mobile platforms on the daily.

This is something that I really admire about Brokenlens, is that we don't exclude platforms and certain players.
Not to mention the countless ways players can contribute to the BRLNs community and have fun. This server is so much more than win = fun.

There are various mini-games, staff-hosted events, that cater or overall work better for certain platforms, including mobile devices. All over forums people are scheduling fun hangouts, competitions, off-topic fun events/stories, etc.

I'm open to chat, hang out, play some matches with you, etc. I can tag you in any open forums events, that have more mobile-friendly categories, if you would like. There are valid points to both sides here.

But in regards to what you said about the staff team, I think this could have been put in a more constructive way, or not at all, as most of it was a false assumption. I know a good chunk of the staff personally, and they are extremely busy with other things going on in the server, IRL, etc. that can't always be seen by players in-game.

not to be rude, but pc players typically dont act like that unless mobile players start complaining about pc players first. even before covid and quarantine, ive seen many mobile players losing and then insulting pc players simply because their opponent was pc and how their opponent would have their own advantages. if we're talking about toxicity, then we have to take in mobile players in consideration as well because pc players are definitely not the sole root of the problem, and even if they are, its not as if you can get rid of pc players. brokenlens has been both a pe and a bedrock server, and it always has been. i dont believe how the server wouldve reached a lower point simply because of the existence of pc players.

also, its kind of irritating to see words describing how pc players "ruin" other peoples wins. if you lose, dont blame your opponent. it just means you lost because you werent better than the person you were playing against, and if you want to be better, theres always ways to improve.

I'd just would like to say that don't take games too seriously. I used to insult pc players for having more advantage and chance to get rid of us mobile players. But I realized not all of them are as rude as what you think- I've also been super inactive on the server due to the amount of hackers and pc players but , we can't blame the staff team for that it's not their fault after all. This are just my opinions ik no one cares about others opinions other than urs but I'll type it anyways?

and about the staff being inactive on the server but is active on the forums , unfortunately I can't answer that only the staff member themselves knew what they are doing. And I believe they have a life too yk they can't spend the whole day on this website nor the server

to be honest, this very thread is complaining against pc players and also blaming pc players for making brlns a lesser server. additionally, saying that pc players ruin other players wins is literally blaming them, so yes, pe players are blaming their opponents, the pc players, for their loss. if its only a game like you said, then why are you hung up about pc players being toxic, annoying, and unfair? if you really thought of it as a game, then you would worry less about that, but your concern is genuine anyways.

its not only the pe players, but players from all platforms experience lag. all players from all platforms go through hardships and challenges when trying to improve. there are ways to improve, and, no offense, youre making excuses for not being able to.

also, if you think investing into a better device is wasting money on a block game, then dont complain about pc players having better devices.

Iv been pe all these years, and yes, sometimes pc players do have better advantages. Some days they win, and some days I do. But I find it as an exciting challenge to improve my pvp skills on pe. Look for example at (strelitzia) @Strel, she’s 3rd place on the all time sw ldb. AND SHE WAS A PE PLAYER, and one of the best pe players iv ever met. So us PE players can do it! But we need to remember it’s just a game, and we are here for fun.

As for the staff, they do a lot of behind the scenes work that we may not even notice. And there life’s don’t revolve around the server 24/7, they also have to live there life’s. They are humans just like us, and they are doing there best. So let us appreciate the staff for the work they have done and are still doing, rather then complain about them.
