Best Weapon?

Just need a little help.

What is the best weapon to use for the Erchius Mining Facility mission? I crafted the MG1 Hailstorm although even with the rapid fire i still can't seem to get through wave 4 of the mobs without using any health upgrades.

The game is called Starbound on Steam. It's like Terraria, but it's got a heck of a story to go with it and it's based in space where a monster who called the Planet Destroyer has found it's way back into the universe after being warped back by a wormhole many years ago. Your main goal is to collect artifacts to completely destroy the gate the creature is coming from before the whole universe is destroyed.

While exploring space, planets and other galaxies you can come upon side quests from different planets to helps citizens out but at the same time earn rewards to upgrade your ship, matter module and weapons.

I'm currently using Mods to enhance my experience adding the Avali race (The creature / Avatar i am) basically fluffy space raptors. It also adds so many cool things such as weapons, food, mods, tech kits, and mechs!
