Chapter 7- The Weirdo On Maple Street
“Exactly how far did they take your sister? I feel like we’ve been walking for hours?” Miner eats a slice of cake they got from the bakery they stopped by.
“Well, I’m sorry that our great-great-great aunt sisters didn’t learn the ability to fly at the time.” Ang rolls her eyes, looking at the GPS that was installed through her eyes.
“31.2 miles to go.” She sighed, looking back at the school, the sun shined overhead which meant that it was noon.
“Wonder how long it will take for our teachers to find out that we’re sipping class!” Bell laughed, dropping her ice cream onto the street. “Oppies.” Now Miner started to laugh.
Ang was furious from these two but tried to act calm.
“You guys are such clowns.” Ang puts a frowny face.
“We’re sorry, Ang!” Bell and Miner said in a voice as they were drunk people.
“Ugh, just start walking.” Ang, Bell, and Miner headed for the woods behind the local news station
“Woah, this seems rather… long?” Bell looks ahead as she sees an endless road of head of her.
“Well, my GPS says that this is the quickest route. What does your GPS say, Miner?”
Miner cheeks her GPS tracker that was also installed in her eyes.
“Same thing.” Her smile suddenly disappears.
“Well, this will be fun. Let’s go.” Miner finishes her cake, leaving frosting on her mouth.
“Heading off so soon?” A voice came from behind Ham.
“Holy s-” Ham jumps 3 feet into the air, dropping his secret weapons onto the ground.
“You again? I’m busy, get lost.” Ham gives Bear the angry face, picking up the weapons on the ground as he started to back his things.
“You do realize there are consequences to what you did to me.” Bear floats around Ham to see his face.
“That doesn’t mean you can be a creep and follow me 24/7” Ham shoves his black box into his bag.
“Suit yourself, but remember one thing. I will always be in your mind for what you did you disgusting humans.” Bear disappears in thin air in front of Ham.
“Stupid idiot.” He shakes his head as he heads for the exit.
Ham headed for the upstairs bathroom, ignoring the next class he headed in a few minutes to come. He saw people talking about why Strel went to jail but more importantly, who killed Bear.
Ham acted like one of them and started to look at his screen so he wasn’t the only one that was not.
He pretended to text but really, was aiming for the bathroom. He was 3 feet from the bathroom until someone in front of him stopped him.
“Um, do you need anything?” Ham questioned, looking down at his phone as the rest of the people.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I was just looking for my class.” Ham made direct contact with the girl that was speaking to him. His eyes blew up and couldn’t believe the girl. She was perfect!
“Oh, wow! Um, I’m sorry! My name’s Ham.” Ham's face turns red.
“Dally.” She smiled back, putting her hand in the middle.
Ham and Dally both shook hands; Ham confused but also, excited.
“What did you say your class was?” Ham scratched his head in nervous.
Dally takes a look at the crumpled paper she had in her pocket all day.
“Um, room B242.” She looks up at him.
“What? No way! That’s the class I also have! Here, I’ll take you there.”
Ham tried to play it cool and lead her to the period they both had.
25.6 miles to go.
“Hm, you really thought someone would have bought a fast-food restaurant in the middle of the woods?” Miner starts to complain to Ang, rechecking her GPS to see if they were heading the correct way.
“Whatever. I still think it’s BS that they didn't do so. Heck, what happens if we were in a car and suddenly, our car broke down? I mean, c’mon, at least have a gas station midway.” Ang flaps her hands into the air, ready to lay back in the middle of the road.
“I’m getting tired.” Bell gets onto her knees and joins Ang.
“Guys, c’mon! A few more mi-” but Ang interrupts her by throwing pebbles on the ground, repeating, “No Miner, No Miner.” She then suddenly falls asleep, still repeating the words after she fell asleep.
“Well, I guess this means we’ll have to go into the woods and find a place to sleep,” Bell suggests.
“Yea, I guess so.” Miner looks into the distance, the sun heading down as the moon settle up from the other side.
