Book Recommendation of the Week:
Instructions for a Second-Hand Heart
Written by Tamsyn Murray
Back cover description:
Jonny isn't like "normal" teenagers.
Every day, he wakes up, kept alive by a machine.
Every day, he wonders if this is the day they'll find a donor match for his heart.
Every day, he wonders if this is the day he'll die.
Every day, Niamh fights with her "perfect" brother, Leo.
Every single day, Leo wins.
Every day, Niamh dreams of a life without Leo.
But all that changes on the day of the accident, the day everything falls apart.
Why I recommend you reading this book:
Because I want you to see what it's like for someone who's pretty much at death's door at the age of 15. Jonny is actually the oldest patient to have the heart disease in his hospital. The rest are younger than him, and they're all kept alive by a machine, just like him. I want you to see that not everyone gets to experience things you find normal. Even buying new clothes is something you think you'll be doing for the rest of your life, and everyone else will too, but really there are people who are stuck in hospital, unable to do just that. Unable to even ever experience it, depending on if the family of someone who died recently is willing to donate their organs.
Dedication:
I chose this book not only because of what I stated above, but also because it reminded by of @LEOLOVESLIONS . The guy who died was not only named Leo, but he was always a very cheerful person, and he was pretty popular too. Of course, they have their differences, but still.
To Leo: If you read the book, I want you to consider it, just like the Leo in the book had. You know, consider what you want to happen to your organs after you die. If you want to keep them, that's fine with me. But think about signing up for the Organ Donor Register. Think of the lives you could save.

Song Recommendation of the Week:
O.D.D. by Hey Violet

Why I'm recommending this song:
This song is about how the singer is different from others, and how others talk trash about her for it. Her mother always told her never to listen to anyone but herself; her sister was the only person who stayed by her side through everything. She talks about how society always talks trash about people, how it's hard to just be herself. How most people don't get her.
She almost did turn into that fake her, but she didn't. Somedays when she wakes up, she doesn't want to face the world because of her fear of people judging her, because of her unique style, her blank stare. But now she's grown and she doesn't give a single ♥♥♥♥ about those people. It's an inspirational song, even if it doesn't sound like it.
Dedications:
To pretty much anyone feeling depressed because of what people tell them. Give the song a chance, you'll like it, trust me.
