So the source of light is, where? Where you put it concerns me of the light sources location since it's very heavy at the, neck? I'd also like to say that there should be more where the light hits. Right now, it looks as if it's inside the character.

I have ideas for solutions, and that it to add a light source. Since it appears it would best come from a lantern or match, maybe draw her holding it? Other ideas may work like light coming from the character's hands.

If the light source is meant to be subtle, make it subtle because it feels very dramatic in my opinion

THAT NECK LONG XD

I really wish to say the background is fairly basic, but I'll let it pass. The head is meant to be facing, I guess straight forward, but from what I see, the chin is angled. Face is fine, head doesn't look so good. Also, the light source should be hitting places where it would make sense, unless theres two sources of light and the other is unseeable.

Did you sketch this out? If not, best to do that and see if it fits what you visualized. You said you did this on the computer? If you can, invert the canvas or layer to see if it's proportional. It's a neat trick if whatever software you use has it (most digital drawing programs have it).

That's all I have to say I think. Both drawings aren't bad, but I do see room for improvement.
