Fun fact: it's possible to die from the fumes that come from feces or gas. But ONLY in large amounts. If it's just a single fart, you're fine. Just your nose is to suffer. But if you fell into a large septic tank, you'd pass out and eventually suffocate to death from the toxic waste.

So I'd say loud and harmless. I'd rather hear a PPPFFFFFRRRTTT come from someone's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but not smell it than hear nothing but have to plug my nose all day to avoid inevitable suffering.
