Oneshot: a magazine, brochure, or the like that is published only one time, with no subsequent issues intended, usually containing articles and photographs devoted to one topical subject.
A lot was going through my mind as I was teleported to my island. I had just broken up with my boyfriend, Taylor, and I decided to think about it over a game of SkyWars. It took a while to boot my tablet since I had shut it off, but once I had it on and Minecraft PE open, I went to my favourite server. BrokenLens.
I was one of the top 10 SkyWars players, but I was different. How? I never used the archer kit. I'm more of a PvPer. And maybe a miner. I entered the portal which took me to the waiting lobby. After a bit, the game started. As well as this story.
"Ooo," I said. It was a new map, a food one. The islands were cookies with cream, and the middle was a fruit bowl. I checked the first chest. "Yes!" I muttered. I had struck gold - a diamond sword. Along with that, I took some food, some blocks and an iron helmet. Then I checked the other chest. Not bad, a pair of iron boots and some food and blocks. I put on the armor then turned towards the island left of mine.
A guy with blond hair stood just barely hidden by a cobble wall. He seemed to have an iron chestplate and lether leggings. Suddenly, he bared a bow started shooting in my direction. He must have seen me. I ducked into the cream on the cookie that was my island. Oh, there was another chest in here, and some ores too.
I flipped open the chest and looked in - blocks was all that was inside which had any use to me, but I took some of the food too, anyway. I peeked out of the cream, and looked at the blond guy. Thankfully, he was distracted by someone else. I looked to my right, and saw a brunette girl who wore iron leggings and gold boots, along with a chain helmet. She seemed to be wearing a pink dinosaur onesies under her armor.
She was holding a bow. She took out an arrow and aimed it at some guy three or four islands away. She pulled back her shot, then... swoosh! The arrow flew across the sky, and landed right on its target. Alright, I was on an island between two archers, and I didn't have a bow. Just great, I was stuck, unless...
I looked in my inventory. Yes! I had my one, precious enderpearl. I had only purchased the one instead of three, since I doubted I would ever need more than one enderpearl in a match. Right now though, I needed to be careful. I couldn't miss this shot. If I did, I'd kill myself. Well, actually, I would already be dead, but... who cares about logic?
Anyway, I peeked at both archers once more. Both were distracted, thankfully. I looked towards the middle, and aimed my shot. Then, I threw my enderpearl. Zwap! I had been teleported to the middle, and had only taken half a heart of damage. I crouched, then looked over the banana I was hiding behind. I had a perfect vantage point, and could see anyone from here. Nobody was there, so I got up and walked towards the apple, where I had seen a doorway.
As I entered the apple, I heard another "Zwap!". Someone else had teleported to the mid, and it sounded like they were right above me. I went into third person view, then pretended to go AFK. I saw a guy in a green and gray sweater with brown hair. He had a chain chestplate, gold leggings and diamond boots, and he held an iron sword in his hand. I exited out of third person, and just in time too. He dropped down and started hitting me, but I was fast to move out of the way, making him accidentally click on a chest.
I took this time to get a few good hits on him. Unfortunately, I could only get him to just over half health when he backed out the chest. He started fighting me, but I dodged half of his hits, and hit him quite a few times, too. In the end, I was victorious, but with only 1 and a half hearts left. I quickly ate some steak, which came along with my kit. Then, I checked the chests, and got some pretty good loot.
As I exited the apple, fully equipped in iron armor (save for my chestplate, that was diamond), I saw it was only two players left - me, and a guy in almost full iron (he had gold leggings). I crouched, and spied him from behind a grape. He had brown hair, most of which was blocked out by a white cap. That was all I could see. He seemed busy with building over to the mid. I checked my inventory, to see if I had picked up the arrows the guy I killed had. Thankfully, I did.
I took out my bow (I had purchased it, just in case I got stuck in a 1v1 versus a bow spammer, and I could just collect ingredients for arrows) and took aim. Three, two, one.. swoosh! Yes! My arrow hit its target, and right on the head, too, haha. As I waited for the guy to die in the void, I did /rate. This map was definitely a new favourite of mine.
Winning that game had put me in a good mood, and suddenly I thought back to my argument with Taylor. In truth, it was a pretty childish argument. I decided to call him back... after a few more rounds of SkyWars.
