A NEW LIGHT
CHAPTER 1 ~ PART 1 ~
Talia opened her eyes. She had spawned in a completely new world. Grass plains rolled over the landscape and sheep frolicked near a small pond. What am I to do? Talia whispered to herself. She didn’t even know where to start. She didn’t know how to find her way back to the ruins. How will she find her friends Mabel and Sophia? Will she start searching for her city, or will she find a new one? Talia sat up and scanned the plains for any signs of players. All she saw were a couple of animals and grass. Let's start searching. She started to walk. Her legs were aching, but on and on she wandered. The blazing sun glared down at her as she laboured across the plains. It was almost midday when she heard a screech. Talia turned towards the sound. A spider was scuttling on its eight legs towards her. Instead of running away, Talia glared at the creature and punched it. It made another angry hissing sound and charged towards her again. This time Talia ran the opposite direction of the spider. It chased her as she sped across the plains. It was evening when Talia reached a little cottage. The spider was still following her, clicking its pincers.
“Help!” screamed Talia. “Somebody help!”
A player came out of the cottage with an iron sword in her hand. She struck the spider. It screamed and disappeared, leaving behind a couple of string. The player turned towards Talia and said,
“Uh, hey. My name is Liza. What is yours?”
“I’m Talia,” she replied.
“Nice to meet you. Welcome to Rabbiton, a town populated by rabbits.”
Liza gestured towards the cottage that she had emerged from.
“But—um—no offence, but that’s just a cottage.”
“Oh!” Liza laughed. “That’s just the entrance of the city! Follow me.”
Talia followed Liza as she made her way towards the cottage. Monsters started to spawn around them.
“Quickly!” Liza urged, gesturing towards the house.
She pushed Talia in and slammed the door behind them.
“This way.”
They made their way towards what looked like a fireplace. Liza pulled a lever and the fire extinguished, revealing a secret passage.
“Down the rabbit hole we go!” Liza joked, as she and Talia stepped into the fireplace and fell down a wide gap in the floor.
