Firstly, i know this thread has a high chance of being taken down/locked by staff, but i mainly need my point to be made clear.

Ok, i've been going around the games in brokenlens and looked at the leaderboards for every game. I can guarantee you that at least 60% of the players on there have a very bad win loss ratio. And that's ticking me off. Isn't a leaderboard meant to show you who are the best players in the game? Is winning the best way to count skill? I've known of many people who just try so painfully hard to get on the leaderboard, but if you have a trash 3:12 winloss ratio compared to another person who has almost the same number of wins, but has a 3:2 winloss ratio, shouldn't the person who has a better winloss ratio rank higher. I am fully aware that we may not be able to change the leaderboard to winloss ratio (above a certain number of wins to prevent flukes), but please Don't tryhard. It's not fair to people who don't have as much time as you but play way better that deserve to be on the leaderboards. Getting a spot on the leaderboard means nothing, no-one will even notice when they play against you. Thanks.
(side note: i won't view this until a week later)

Wenz, the leaderboards are like that sometimes. But even good players in games like TAG or BOW, or even SW. Sometimes have more losses than wins. Because of that 10% on SW of maybe being sniped or a 50% chance on TAG of not being able to see others. But it's not even really try-harding. People play hard to try to win, and this always applies, you can't win them all. And most people even some of my friends have said things like: Why do I always get sniped? or Why does everyone bow spam, or Of course there's a w10 player. It is just the odds.

Everyone on the LDBs have earned their spot. A win is a win, doesn't matter how you won.
They might've a bad winloss ratio, but they have more wins than the others, so they deserve their spot.

there is actually no problem with the current system the leaderboard uses to choose who is on top.

the problem is the people. we're all constantly playing, praying that we get wins, and for what? if you look around - truly, take a look around at what people talk about - all you see is win, win, win. nobody cares about playing for fun anymore. well, sure, you'll probably find someone if you dig hard enough. but honestly, most people only talk about winning to get a spot on the leaderboard. all the talk about is getting a higher level, getting more wins, getting up the leaderboard.

it's rare to find someone who's there just because... well, they want to. most people who play certain minigames only play them because they're pushing themself for a better level, or win, or place on the leaderboard, or all of the above. and then when they lose, or they find someone who's better than them, they go off the rails, because their sense of perfection is damaged.

most people aren't too pushy though. most people accept losses, but they hate it when they start getting losses again and again, like it's the worst thing in the world to achieve 3 losses in a row during a sandbox game made for children above the age of four. four.

i'll be honest, i hate it too. but people tend to overreact. they'll start calling the game all sorts of things and finding as many hateful or bad things to say about it as virtually possible. they'll rage quit. they'll say "oh i'm gonna quit because i feel like i'm losing too much" or "i've lost my skills". they don't realise that the game wasn't made for your stupid god damn skills.

it was made for your enjoyment.

but you don't seem to be getting much enjoyment out of it.

edit: setting aside everything i said. i'm a tntrun legend, and to be honest, it doesn't make me feel anything. yeah, sure, it's cool that i got to where i am. but to be completely honest with you? it means nothing to me. not anymore, anyway. hell yeah, i love to look at it; it gives me a feeling of pride and self-importance... but that's about it. in 10 years, i'm probably not gonna be here. it's not gonna matter anymore, where i'm at on the leaderboard, or what my level is. sure, it took a helluva lotta hard work to get to where i am. but that doesn't mean it has to be the overlord to my life, and everything i stand for.

i barely even play tntrun anymore.
