Okay, first I wanna say that I definitely think Minecraft is still an amazing game, and is still thriving and growing. ;)

But honestly, I think the Minecraft community in general, (not every player) is the reason why everything bad that has happened to Minecraft has happened, they hated on notch until he sold the game to Microsoft, they made that happen, then Minecraft had a few bad years with little, and controversial *cough*1.9*cough* updates, so people said it was 'dead'. And it kinda was going downhill, even if it wasn't losing to many players.

Also, I think a lot of people think the game is dead because it's not the 'biggest hyped' game anymore, it still hypes people, especially me when they talk about the new updates that are coming out, but people are really used to it, the large part of the hype has moved to Fortnite, and more recently Hytale. The thing is, people have found their favorite Minecraft youtubers, and stuck with them, causing there to be no 'trending' Minecraft youtubers. Minecraft is actually still the most watched game on YouTube, it's just more spread out.

Another issue is, to keep a game alive, it needs to have consistent updates, but more updates mean more content, and more content means less simplicity; one of Minecraft's key features. People say, 'Minecraft has such dull updates, they need to add more stuff, like, super duper complicated villager systems!' And then they're like, 'Minecraft is getting way to complicated!'

Honestly, I think Minecraft is going back on the track, the past couple updates have blown away previous updates all the way back to 1.8, Dinnerbone, one of the original Minecraft developers, has recently come back to working on the main game, where he had stopped for a while. I'd say, Minecraft is entering a new golden age. :)

What am I doing? I'm gonna stop ranting xD

Minecraft’s not dying off. People can say whatever they want about the game, but still millions of playrs play the game. The game is honelsty reaching its peak in players, in my opinion. Sure, Fortnite and Apex Legends still have many, many players. But Minecraft has A.) lasted longer and B.) been more popular for a while. And sure, updates may be s♥♥♥ty, but who cares what one or two people think? It’s not gonna affect the entire community just because one kid said: “Minecraft’s new update reminds me of my poopoo I took this morning!1!1!11!”. C’mon, would someone like Notch really listen to a 5 yr old? No. He would listen to people who actually have opinions about the game, good or bad.

To sum everything up, Minecraft is never gonna die off.

(Edit: sorry my English isn’t the best)

Minecraft isn't dead, it still has millions of players. It may seem that way though because other games are getting all of the talk because they're newer sort of....

Think of it this way: if you have a blanket completely covering you, you are still there. Just not seen. To others around, they'll look at the blanket for awhile, and then realize how weird staring at a blanket is and tell you to stop hiding under a blanket cuz like why. Anyway, think of yourself as Minecraft, and the blanket other games. To some people, they don't care what's under the blanket because the blanket is like so cool omg so coooool, but people who don't care about the oh so cooooool blanket will tell you to uncover your hiding spot under the blanket.

Why am I confusing.

Ok. So. sorry im trying do make this analogy work don't mind me k thx

*final explanation that doesn't include oh so coooool blankets*

A lot of people still like Minecraft. Some people don't.

why did I waste so much time

This is a good video: ⬇

Honestly that makes me think... something even as little as how long it takes to type and the effort compared to pc makes people talk less. Pc u just type and something about it.. connects you more? Just playing fun maps is hard with friends... its gets boring, talking takes forever, the maps aren't as good as pc... and since pc is dying, i feel like the main thing goes away, it's just going to lower how fun it is on pe.

Also to anyone reading this thread, not saying mc is dying, just the video was nostalgic and sad
What is missing from how things used to be cuz idek. Watching most mc yters isn't even that exciting anymore. Playing survival with friends is like... as soon as we join we could have it on hard mode and it could be like hey go get wood lets make a mansion and then what after that? There's no struggle or (whats the word im thinking of). It's just too easy. They need to add something to get people more involved, not just these random updates that people like for a few days.

Off topic but latest update i cant even open mc anyone else having that problem and how could I fix it (already u installed and reinstalled)

Edit: way back whenever it was, one of my friends made a (small/private) server. It was so fun to see all the new things and commands that were added, and there was a bunch of people there that were friendly and it was interesting, and I got to meet everyone. He later quit without saying anything.
In skywars, it was fun because it was a challenge (i think that was the word i wanted up there lol) and me and one of my best friends could team up and try to defeat everyone. When we won, it made us feel so accomplished, but now, losing just annoys me and winning is just.. ok, yay i guess. Before, we got to meet so many new people. Now, people rarely talk. If they do, maybe they'll be friendly and you friend add them (anyone interested in sending a req, ign The_Derpy_Derper), but the next day, they won't say anything unless they said something, or wanted you to join them (which people rarely do now and I feel that thats a big part. No one just says to their not best friend to come over (calling their specific name) and join them, because everyone now has their best friends, and that's who they stay with) (or vice versa, possibly.) I remember it was so much fun to get together a bunch of good friends in an empty skywars lobby, and just see who could win (we were pretty equal so it wasn't just one person winning). Now, I can't even get a few good friends together to play an exciting map that I would find (any suggestions?) Because either i have to go, or they do. What happened to the fun, happy times?
Also congrats for reading the whole thing. And sorry u had to read that much if u did lol

Double edit: wow that's the most ive ever written

Well, there is a lot more little kids that play on pe, and they don't use the chat much because they can't really type, yeah, java edition is kinda dying out more xD that's why we're seeing more win10 players on pe, I think either Java edition needs its pvp fixed up so at least most people are happy (which mojang is apparently working on and listening to community input on) or big servers from Java edition need to move over to Bedrock and make hardcore communitys for win10 players and maybe some pe players that are made of tough stuff. (Not to say win10 players still can't play brokenlens ;))

I can see my first Minecraft world popping up in my head. It makes me sad that I'll never be able to see it with my eyes again and only in my head.
I feel ya xD I accidentally deleted mine
