This is an ordeal that I believe should be firmly addressed, as this is directly affecting the mental health of a longtime friend of mine.
This thread is all about Muftii, the current no.1 tsw player in both the monthly and weekly ldb, and no.8 overall. (P.S. I didn't get consent from him to write this so if ur in a state of shock from reading this Muf, im sorry :") )
I've known Muftii for a while now, we've been the best of friends for over 9 years, meeting one another in our lower primary days. And as such,it is in my right to defend him in times of trial, such as right now.
This friend of mine is currently being bashed online by "supporters of the server" (won't specify as I don't want to direct any hate towards any of them), for reasons that include, but are not limited to:
-Being a no-life
-Getting "carried" ingame
-Asking people to alt for him whenever he's offline
-hacking in block game
-advertising his crew in random lobbies
-playing agro
Before I go on to explain why these are all profound and ridiculous reasons to attack a LIVING person's personality, I'd like to clarify a couple of things.
Muftii is a teenager.
Muftii didn't start out as a leaderboard grinder, he was and still is a normal player who only ever played games to either escape reality, or just for the sake of finding joy in one's ideals. This can clearly be seen in our mobwars days when me and him play mw after school and goof off to the countless possibilities that come with the game, we have never ever thought of putting our heart and soul to grinding the game, even though we appeared on the alltime ldb for a while.
Things are different now, 7 months into 2020 and me and Muftii began to spend our days playing tsw due to the amount of hackers, and the toxic community that is still active in mw. Muftii was around no.60 in the tsw alltime at the time, it may not seem like much in the eyes of many, but to Muf, he saw it as a challenge. At first, he wanted to reach no.30 in the alltime, but once he achieved that goal with ease, he realized that becoming no.1 in the alltime is in actuality, within his grasp. Thus he went for it, not only as a way to gain satisfaction of becoming no.1, but because he sought to it as a fun, albeit repetitive journey that he himself wanted to experience. He has even gained support from tsw's current no.1 player, Zathan. Most people would perceive Muf's motivation as gluttonous, but in actuality, he's just a man who's motivation is fueled by his spirit to finish goals that he has set for himself.
So back onto the main topic at hand. As stated earlier Muf is currently in the frontlines fighting off against bl toxicity, for profound reasons. I'll go into all these and more in detail, and rebut arguments that have been set alongside these statements.
1. Being a no-life
This is utterly ridiculous, using the urban dictionary as a source, "a no-life is described as someone who has an abundance of free time which he/she used pointlessly". Muf's quest to become no.1 in the tsw alltime isn't pointless. One of the main reasons as to why Muf is aiming for the top spot is so that he can have a boost in self-esteem. Which in turn, can also lead to an boost in self-actualization, which is a key factor to achieving eudaimonia or human flourishing. Not to mention that Muf doesn't play minecraft all day, he prioritizes other things as well. He's also a great multitasker, being able to do multiple things like eating, studying or reciting whilst still playing minecraft. Overall, dumb argument.
2. Being "carried" ingame
Let's point out the obvious contradiction here, Muf is NOT being carried. And even if it does seem so ( as perceived by many ), it is partly due to him being new to pc. But clearly, he isn't. Muftii doesn't stay in his spawn island ordering his teammates to do the dirty work for him. No, he contributes to the cause, he attempts to be useful, and will try to redeem himself in other standpoints if his actions aren't gratifying enough. Not to mention that both me and him don't have the best gaming setup, leaving us at a loss for action. Once again, dumb statement.
3. Asking people to alt for him whenever he's offline
Look, around 99% of Muftii's wins were ones he achieved by PLAYING on his own account. I have alted for him once or twice, not afraid to admit. But I never intended to interfere with his personal grinding, it's his journey and thus, he should be his own protagonist.
4. Hacking in block game
Need I not say more? No, no, no, no, no. Muf doesn't hack. End of story, ssed multiple times, no mouse software, no autoclicker, no nothing.
5. Advertising his crew in random lobbies
Look sure it can be obnoxious at times, but for many(including me), it brings life to dead lobbies as well as give it a comedic atmosphere as Muf tries his best to convince everyone to join his crew. Plus, what's wrong with building a community that's well divers-e in terms of skill, leadership and deception?
Brokenlens has been my home for quite some time now. I've had my ups and downs with the server, but in the end, it still gives off that sense of joy that most servers can't replicate, a diverse community. Which makes me all the more disappointed. All Muf wanted to do was enjoy the beauty of Brokenlens, whether it be through its minigames, or through its community. But he, including us can't do so due to the mass diaspora of hackers and the toxic side of the bl community.
6. Playing agro
There's nothing wrong with playing agro, period. There's nothing wrong with killing friends, period. You're just playing the game the way it was meant to be played.
Looking at previous screenshots sent by Muftii, most of the arguments that involve muftii weren't caused by him. He didn't pull the trigger, it was the opposition. And even if he stays silent, the opposition still attempts to get a reaction from him by bombarding him with statements that attempt to sabotage and eradicate his motivation to play. It's not just words too, some people even wait for him to join a game so that they could join his lobby to decimate him, disgusting.
What's even worse is that the people who bully Muf online are people whom I've interacted before and have befriended, they are also seen as staff pets who try to maintain their positive persona when within the proximity of a staff member to impact them positively, but immediately has a change of heart once they leave their sight. Though I don't want to specify who they are to avoid prolonged conflict. You know who you are, and you should feel ashamed for bullying someone who hasn't done anything controversial nor extremely offensive.
If you feel excruciating hate towards someone, keep it to yourself and don't talk behind their back. It'll somehow find a way to enter that person's ears and it'll hurt both your reputation, and the reputation of the beholder.
Muf's a human, so treat him like one. He already has a lot of things to worry about irl, whether it be affairs or mental health issues. Have some sympathy will you? And while you're at it, have a privilege check.
If you ever see Muftii in a lobby, don't be afraid to say hi, even to the people who I have implicitly mentioned. Boost his self-esteem.
Anyways, that's all. Hopefully my 3 hours of writing wont go in vain.
Arrivederci
